Excellent job, Frenchie! You got a total and learned alot. The feeling of being in the zone and blanking on what’s around you is one of my favorite states of mind. So happy for you that you did so well!
FYI, if doing a meet again means you disappear from the compound, I’m against it.
You know it was a success when you’re already planning the next one. Nice! It sure beats the “I’ll never do that again” response!
Dumbass newbie question - When you talk about failing your bench, is it because you didn’t touch the chest, or couldn’t completely lock it out? I’ve never seen someone compete.
Kimba - it will mean disappearing from the compoind for a week prior - but absence makes the heart grow fonder and I shall come back with inspiring epic tales of strength or if nothing else epic lockout faces.
Powerpuff - I was okay on the commands and form (touched chest) I just couldn’t lock out. I have been benching without a pause for too long and my PR with pause is much different than my PR without.
Snap - as described above just failed the lifts. Having trouble getting angry at the bar. 7 of the lifters were newbies like myself so there was a crap load of butterflies and anxiety. Perhaps a meet with a bunch of hardcore meatheads would have really gotten the strong vibes going. But at the end of the day I can’t blame it on others. I’m responsible for my lifts. I need to learn to bring the game to the stage. The reason the meet was so small is because we have our nationals March 29th and smartly the seasoned lifters don’t do 2 meets so close to one another. Next year the Montreal regional should be earlier to host more lifters.
