I just got labs back. My truT calculated free test is 64.3.
Shbg is 68
Total test is 2063
I take cypionate 3- 200mg vials per month (600 mg total per month).
I inject mon, wed, fri
I also take hcg to prevent ball shrinkage.
Does this sound healthy? I am 49. I feel really good. Any reason to change this?
Were bloods taken at trough?
To make sure my math is right, 600mg/mo means you are on 150mg/wk, correct?
If these bloods were taken at trough value, and you are on 150mg/wk, you have quite the response to Test. Most would be around 1200ng/dL at your dosage.
How much HCG are you taking?
It’s like smokers, some can go their entire life smoking two packs and day and never get lung cancer, yet some get debilitating diseases after only 10-20 years of smoking.
You’re playing russian roulette.
You also risk downregulation long term.

Thanks, I checked it. The issam calculator says my free test is about half of what the tru-test calculator says!
Issam says my free test is 31 ng/ml
Tru-test says my free test is 64 ng/ml
How can it be so much different ? I triple checked my calculations. I used the correct matching measuresment methods ( like ng/ml , etc). Is the Tru- t test really that inaccurate? I dont know much about it.
I do not know if it is LCMS . It does not say on my test.

I thought it might have been an error in the test . It seemed too high for the amount of testosterone Im taking,
Just now had look up what that “trough” meant. I did not know about that before. I just took the blood test at a random time one morning. For all I know,I could have injected that same morning before the test. I never thought about that.

For hcg , I take 500 mcg 3x per week (1500mcg total per week)
And now Iearn that the Tru-T calulator that I used to get my free testosterone result says my free is over twice as high as what the calculator says on issam.ch/freetesto.htm !
Im not sure now how accurate any of this stuff is now.
I dont understand that comment either. I thought testosterone replacement always downregulates your body’s own production of LH and therefore testosterone. . That is why testicles shrink on trt.
But when taking hcg along with trt,the hcg acts like LH and stimulates your testes to work and make testosterone ansd other hormones like dhea and not shrink.
Am I missing something?
My testicles only shrunk 25% of original size, which were humongous pre-treatment. So at 25% reduction isn’t a big deal.
That is not a very useful or accurate analogy for my question.
Anyone knows too much of any hormone is unhealthful and risky .
But ANY amount of smoking is harmful and you would be playing Russian Roulette.
The same is not true for testosterone. Too little is not good for men. Trt can improve several measurable markers for health and longevity. I had low and poor health a few years ago. TRT dramatically helped improve my health.
Im trying to optimize it now. Im not trying to get away with taking as much as I can or some childish BS.
If Im taking took much for optimal health, Im going to reduce it.
The point I made was about downregulation happening as a normal part of trt. Shrinkage of any amount (including 25%) is a result of down regulation.( as far as I understand it)
