When i say ability i mean $$$

Can we move this to the bb forum mods, plz?

If you want distance coaching, it’s doubly important that you have the willpower you said you lacked in the OP. If you fail, you’re wasting someone else’s time and abusing their goodwill for offering help in the first place. By failing, you’ve got less to lose, as you’ll be in the same situation you started at. There’s very little real accountability on the internet, anyway.

If you want to lean up, you’ve got to truly want it more than ‘eating nice food’ or your ‘hot wife liking you as you are’. Those are going to hold you back, coached or not. Just going by what you’ve said, it just seems like you think it would be nice to be lean, but without being ready to make the sacrifices necessary to make the change a reality.

Good input, i agree with what you said. I think i am ready now, i want to be leaner and want to do this.

I suppose if she didn’t find me attractive i’d have something to lose but she isn’t really bothered.

As for the food, i’ve struggled to sacrifice up to now, but if somebody else is putting in a little time to help me i sure as hell wouldn’t waste their time.

If i had any doubt in my mind that i couldn’t do this with the help of some people around here i wouldn’t start. I know i’d be pissed if i was helping someone and they let me down. So i wouldn’t do it too them.

I hope i’ve done enough to persuade some people for help around here.

Just curious, but where in Egypt are you man?

I’ve seen some REALLY big and lean dudes in Cairo around the Nasr city area - maybe somebody local could help you out. I remember wishing I spoke fluent Arabic so I could get some advice!

I have in-laws in Cairo so I’m familiar with how rough life can be for Egyptians financially. My in-laws are pretty well off but they all suffer from quick weight gain. They all have weaknesses for all the sweet and sugary things… halawa, dates, fayrouz, molto, etc… lol

I bet keeping away from things like that could help a great deal in leaning up and if I remember correctly… eggs are pretty cheap in Egypt and so is produce. That is coming from a foreigner’s perspective though… I don’t know what it’s like from an Egyptian’s view.

Marzouk,

Pick a routine from the site.

Follow it.

Don’t eat like shit.

Regards,

HG

I actually live in nasr city!

Im from the Uk, my dad is Egyptian and My mum is English. lived here for 2 years now.

Yea things like eggs and produce are cheap, meat can be expensive as can milk, even canned tuna.

I work for my self snd started a business over here, so from the ground up its definitely hard work. As for Egyptian society i would be considered well off but by no means ‘Rich’.

Egyptian food is fucking hazardous on waistlines, especially the sweet stuff.

Sacalanz… Bread, jam, heavy double cream and halawa (seasame seeds and sugar) paste. Horrific for a dieter lol.

There is a guy who works at my gym he’s lean and has competed in the past and has some good size/genetics.

Problem is that the only english words he knows are

Steroid
Whey
Bench
and HI

Where are your in-laws? U married to an Egyptian girl?

A good coach can help you eat better and see food as a tool instead of an indulgence, but they won’t cook for you, or shop for you, or wash your dirty Tupperware. You still need to do the work and most importantly, follow the plan. The best diet in the world is useless if not followed, just as how a strength training program is worthless if you skip more workouts than you hit.
I wouldn’t coach an unmotivated slug for all the cheap whores in Thailand.
ouch, words hurt you know
That was more speaking from personal experience than a shot at you (otherwise it would have said “unmotivated slug like you”). I don’t know you well enough personally to comment on your motivation in any definitive manner.

Ah that’s cool. I was wondering if you were originally from somewhere else… I’ve never heard an Egyptian say that their will power ‘licks balls’ - lol!

I did marry an Egyptian girl. Her name is Rana - she’s a total cutey ! My in-laws are in Mokattam (the much nicer part… not that really poor stretch) and some live in that area by ‘City Stars’ (don’t remember what that area is called). A couple of my uncle in-laws have villa’s up in Hurghada and Alexandria as well.

Egypt is a really cool place. I haven’t been there in about a year. It’s gotten harder to visit often.

As far as dieting goes I can’t really help at all… lol. I’m not exactly as lean as I’d like to be either… you’re totally right when saying Egyptian food is horrible for your waistline though. You tried Koshari? Lol! Staying away from all the good food isn’t fun but I bet it’d help out a lot.

A bit of both…
Then I’ll be blunt with you. I have been over 20% with a 43 inch waist and have gotten as lean as i am in my profile pic it took me over a year to lose the chub and then another year to bulk up to this size. So i do know where your coming from.

Having said that you have been here for 3 years and made countless threads asking for advice on different methods of losing weight. The truth is you already know everything you need to make it happen. There is no universally right or wrong way to do anything.

You have been spinning your wheels for 3 years maybe it’s time to accept that bodybuilding just isn’t for you. Bodybuilding isn’t for everyone not everyone can succeed at this. If you really love to train but really don’t have the will power to diet down have you considered training for power lifting or strongman? Both are respectable sports that don’t require you to be lean or diet down.

Or you could just find a completely new hobby if you only started lifting with weight loss in mind. If you haven’t been able to get it together after 3 years there isn’t really much else that can be said or done for you.
Good post and great results Matthaeus.

Marzouk, the pain of change needs to be great, massive even.

What are you willing to do to change?

 1. No posts here or any other forum (except a training log) - till you achieve your goal.
 2. Donate $XXXX to charity if you don’t reach your goal by the nominated date.
 3. ??? (what needs to happen for you to change, what are you willing/unwilling to do?)

Also, “free coach”? You want to be successful but don’t want to pay for it? Dude, that makes me want to say you’re not cut for this.
How about we make some bets for motivation? I will bet that by May 6th 2012, I can gain more weight than you can lose straight up.

I am personally willing to wager that if you beat me, I will cut my hair into a mohawk, but not just any mohawk, a mohawk the color of T-Nation’s choosing (purple, green, blue, whatever).

What will you wager?

If the OP accepts, who will be my coach haha?

-Zep
Hmm Zep vs Marzouk… the challenge. I have no doubt in my mind you could gain more weight than i could lose, some chips and a few gallons of water over a day or 2 and presto u would of gained 10lbs over night.

May 6th isn’t a bad idea, i have my best friends wedding may 26th so i wana be well on my way for then.

I’m already bald so anything hair wise is out of the picture.

Post your weight, and we’ll see how we go, like i said earlier. Me winning this bet is almost impossible.
The way I see it, you could easily beat me by doing a weight cut like a fighter and just start sweating. You could lose 20 lbs in a week that way. There’s was to cheat both ways, gaining and losing.

Obviously rules would need to be set. And you would need to wager something.

I am 5’10 ish and currently weigh in between 180.1 (fasted naked after pissing in the morning) and 186.4 end of the day after a decent day of eating. Ill just say I’m around 15% bf (I dont pay much attention to that, and no I haven’t measured, but my abs arent exactly non existent)

Remember, yes I can eat chips, but I don’t want to get fat, I’m talking quality mass, just like you’re talking about losing adipose, you don’t want to drop muscle.

I think HG has put it better than anyone.

The routines on this site are “free help”. Not just the articles but the 20 or so “Best Of” threads in the BB forum are also a great source of information.

Follow some of the training logs - they are a great source of inspiration and ideas. How about the Indigo logs of Synergy, Ashy?

There’s at least 4 contest prep threads (BBB, ebomb, tim) on the BB forum - read them all. Filled with ideas, not to mention Stu’s prep.

How about the BOI threads? PX’s dieting strategy thread? Modok’s nutrition Q&A?

Dude, there’s SO much out there in this site.

Oh for sure, man. I’ll definitely let you know if/when I’ll be visiting Egypt again. I was always intimidated into going in some of those gyms… it’d be nice to have a friendly face with me. haha

It’ll probably be a couple years until I can go back - but I’ll definitely keep in touch.

I’ve removed my avatar, so everytime i post i realise that i don’t have an avatar and the only place i will post on this site until i sort my fat ass out is here.
