Fox News or Faux News

This board–and both of you–are above that kind of thing.

You’ve have a serious reading comprehension problem here, bud.

FWIW, I agree with all of what SM has posted about this.
You’re right. To say that you guys were implying he’s a Muslim was an exaggeration. Consider that part rescinded. Also I wish I could press on in the 2nd Amendment thread but I haven’t had a spare minute lately. I do hope to come back to it soon, though, because it’s been one of my favorite discussions on here.

“The largest effect is that of Fox News: all else being equal, someone who watched only Fox News would be expected to answer just 1.04 domestic questions correctly [out of five] – a figure which is significantly worse than if they had reported watching no media at all. On the other hand, if they listened only to NPR, they would be expected to answer 1.51 questions correctly; viewers of Sunday morning talk shows fare similarly well. And people watching only “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” could answer about 1.42 questions correctly.”

Why is that distortion any funnier than the typical left wing lies?
What about asking news viewers objective questions and then averaging their responses is a distortion?

You are shaky ground on this one my friend. Study after study after study shows Fox viewers to be among the worst informed. Look up studies that ask Fox viewers whether or not Obama is a Muslim. It’s hilarious.
I’m sick of this dirty shit. You want class from me? Than stop posting “unbiased” sources to make ridiculous claims.

Media Matters central reason for existing is to air “dung studies” about conservatives. One of the most professionally produced networks in the world and these shit pickers claim study after study that FOX watchers are dumbf*cks. GROW A G_Damn brain, wake up and get off your thumbs.

The current administration is taking us on HYPNOTIZING journey into China’s pocket. Gee I wonder how many brainiacs believe this?

Obama wants the wealthy American’s money but not their advice. How shallow so many of you are to believe a community organizer with so little real world experience can FIX America by going down the trail of socialism. Detroit is his model. Detroit and so many other cities are DEAD.

Most of the anti-Fox anti-conservative sites that you and others are citing have nothing but “Force Fox News Off The Air” as their goal. No one says get rid of Al Sharpton boycott his MSNBC sponsors.

Do you really believe Media Matters as an unbiased source?
No, I do not believe it’s unbiased.

The post you quoted didn’t cite Mediamatters. The study was conducted by a university.

In fact, I haven’t cited Mediamatters at all. I did link to a video that happened only to exist on Mediamatters, but it was the video and not its host website that I was referencing. It was an unedited clip of Sean Hannity publishing a string of wildly inaccurate claims on Fox’s airwaves. It was apropos of this thread and, more importantly, no one in this thread has mentioned it or addressed it since I posted it–because, you know, Fox is so great and all.

By the way, Fox is not “one of the most professionally produced networks in the world.” It is mired in scandal after scandal of it own doing. Take, as a small example, the run-up to the election: FNC told its viewers not that the the race would be close, not that it was too close to call, not that Romney would win in a photo-finish–they pretended Romney was headed for a landslide, which flew in the face of almost every poll. And then Rove had a tantrum in font of the entire world.

Say what you want about Fox’s competitors. No cable news channel is good in my opinion. But, since they’re all online now and that’s where the competition is heating up anyway, Fox is really competing with everybody. And the thing about the New York Times, the WP, the Economist? Nate Silver may have been rooting for one guy or another, but if his model had predicted a Romney win, he’d have said so.

You’ve got Fox’s WHPC saying that they overdid Libya. You’ve got the (very unsurprising) Woodward report on Ailes’ attempted kingmaking (by the way, do you know what would happen if Jill Abramson were clandestinely recorded while trying to recruit a Democrat to run for office, promising Sulzberger would bankroll it and the NYT would be “your in-house”? She’d resign or be fired within 24 hours).

Some people have said, “but NBC edited the Martin tape!” A bit of a non sequitur in a thread about Fox, but at least they are correct. But NOBODY in their right mind is going to come in here and claim that Fox is fantastic.

Well you have to admit it was a shock that Obama won.

As I’ve said before they all make mistakes, after all they employ humans. Just because they all can’t be right doesn’t mean they are all wrong.

Fox sponsors are again under attack. What ever happened to… what was that phrase… liberals would always say about censorship… oh yeah “IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT CHANGE THE CHANNEL!”

Liberals are hypocrites in every way. They profess to be the real PATRIOTS then proceed to dismantle the things that make every IMMIGRANT want to break their back to get into America. As I said before they wish to take away huge sums of money from the rich but not ask them why they are so successful. Perhaps use their answers as the model for running the country. No they would never do that because they know what they want to do. They wish to bankrupt it and break it apart as happened to that other country… what was the name of it?? Oh yeah the U.S.S.R.

Is this so horribly difficult to follow? If you want the end goal of the current government to give us CHANGE then by all means gets rid of FOX NEWS NETWORK and all opinions that disagree with the current government. Allow the Rachel Maddows, Anderson Coopers, Al Sharptons, Micael Moores and Keith Obermanns of the world mold what you are allowed to hear.

Let’s all line up for the mark. I’ll be in the very back.

He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. - Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark “of the beast” Twain

I wish. I’ve read a few of the Harvard classics but nothing like a majority of them. If someone were to sit down and read and understand every book on of those 100-book lists of essential Western books, it would probably be worth more than a graduate degree.
conservativedog wrote:
No it wasn’t.

The only thing that was clear was that it was going to be a relatively close one.

I personally moved back and forth as election day neared. I ended up officially predicting a close Romney win, operating on the logic that the polls were consistently overestimating Democratic turnout. That is perfectly legitimate. But to look at poll averages that unequivocally predicted an Obama electoral college victory and then conclude that it was a “shock” when said victory came to pass is bad analysis.

Again: Nate Silver may have been rooting for Obama, but if the polls had predicted a Romney win he’d have said so rather than confusing his partisan wet-dream with reality. And more importantly: if Jill Abramson had done what Ailes did re: Patraeus but with, say, Hillary Clinton, she’d have resigned or been forced out within a day.

This is the ramblings of a conservative gone wild. Exactly WHAT counter opinions are you LISTENING to? Why not change the channel from the Maddows, Coopers, Sharptons, Olbermanns? It’s what you think the other side should do in regards to Fox. Right wingers are usually so full of hypocrisy I’m surprised they have room to eat.

And yes, clearly people who disagree with your worldview DESIRE the U.S. to be bankrupt. Make no mistake about it, this is what they want. They are lining you up for the mark of the beast? I’m backing away, far away, from this type of comment…but reality doesn’t seem to be something someone is living in when they go this route.

Nowhere in this winding, incoherent, and genuinely absurd rant did you approach a viable point to what smh was talking about. No wonder Democrats are smiling so brightly, the opposition is catering to lunacy.

Good lord I don’t like Democrats anymore than Republicans, but you aren’t bringing ANYONE to your side. It’s this type of talk that drives so many potential voters away from the Republican party. That and “proving” one isn’t racist by listing their favorite black people. Bad news guys, it’s not just Obama’s skin color that has blacks voting for the big D. They voted when their candidate wasn’t black, and they will vote that way again. But keep telling yourself that it’s just because they “like free things.” See no evil hear no evil, except from the other side of course!

Yeah, you put smh in first and now you put in my name instead of his. Who are you targeting? Your post and picture has absolutely nothing to do with anything as does your question. I’m not here to try and figure out what type of point your trying to make. I’m NOT a scientist and it’d take a heck of one to figure out what you’re trying to get anyone to see. Address peoples post is how message boards are supposed to work, and you can either address mine or not I don’t really care. Simply because you won’t address mine though doesn’t mean I’m going to try to get into some kind of stupid ass picture game.

What makes you and so many others believe I was trying to prove I wasn’t racist?

Everything you vote for and champion has an end result. That end result can be seen even now. You and like minded voters are this country’s racists. You’re brainwashed. You don’t know who is on your side or who is against you. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Divided we fall. You are a part of the “we.”

P.S. how ironic blacks kill one another by the thousands each year, they murder and rape whites, but a heart felt post on favorite black people is labeled as trying to prove “one isn’t racist.” and I am the one labeled incoherent, and genuinely absurd… thanks for the lesson as I work weekly in black communities so I know exactly who the racists are.

Also H wrote " Bad news guys, it’s not just Obama’s skin color that has blacks voting for the big D. They voted when their candidate wasn’t black, and they will vote that way again." A group that continues to vote big D 95% whether the candidate is black or white is voting as Benjamin Franklin stated it…

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. Sell not liberty to purchase power.” SEE BELOW:

Example of liberal hypocrisy … Google, an ultra liberal corporation that supports democratic tax policies runs for the hills when they face enormous tax payments. They funneled nearly $10 BILLION of revenues into Bermuda. Obammy wants his friend Eric Schmidt at Google to take a Federal job. I have no problem in what they did. The problem I have is their support for the high taxation in the first place. They say one thing and do another. Hypocritical behavior to the tenth degree.

Here’s the problem C-Dog. I haven’t voted for a Democrat since 2004. I mean you want to put me into your little box with all the other liberals you hate so you can throw all your usual stocked up party insults at me, but they aren’t going to stick. I’ll AGREE with some of the stuff you say about the left. The problem is how is the right better? Why am I wrong for pointing out how the right fucks up and does what the left does ALL THE TIME? The parties are the same.

And lmfao at heartfelt post. Whatever you gotta tell yourself. You whine and whine about liberals placing people in categories and you try hard to prove you aren’t racist. I know plenty of people like that. I live in the middle of Kansas. I have all sorts of people who talk about the whites raped and killed by black people, BUT I’M NOT RACIST.

Here’s a hint I’ve learned over the years. If you need to spend a lot of time proving you aren’t racist then you probably are.

Your problem is you will point out liberal hypocrisy but ignore it from your own side. You want liberals to change the channel from Fox, but point out your issues with liberal talking heads. You hammer class warfare from the left while ignoring the boxes you try to place people in. It’s ok, the current Republican position is filled with tons of hypocrisies. You can see it all over this site. Republicans who voted for big government over and over again with Bush are now the true champions of liberty and limited government. They passionately argue for small government while a few years ago they talked of the necessity of big government.

They are full of shit. And you don’t even see it. All you see is the problems with the other side.

You’re so anxious to use that word racist.

That’s something, do you feel like Dr. King now? Shoot some farkle dust out your ass Dr. H. I think you have the professor X useless turd syndrome and feel you have to spread your brand of politics which I can’t seem to put my finger on. As far as I can tell YOU STAND FOR NOTHING.

So proud to stand up and say "we are not racists or homophobes because we voted to give away this fascist country to whoever was the opposite of what it stood for. “We’re the best generation of all because we’re not Republican or Democrat we hate them all!”

Cry some more unicorn tears for me because you know I’m an evil RACIST and the people I work around each week are in such danger. If only someone could warn them that after all these years I’m the bad guy.

Conservativedog, a word of caution when dealing with H factor. He likes to pretend that he’s not a liberal. While going about bashing mostly conservatives on the board he claims he’s a libertarian. And also never has a bad word for any of Obama’s policies.

He’s not quite as clever as he thinks as he has been exposed several times…not hard to do.

You read what you want to read Zeb and believe what you want to believe.

Apparently you’ve missed:

Me calling out Bob Costas in the 2nd Amendment thread.
Me calling out liberals who think the government should solve inequality.
Me calling out people who want to claim health care is a right.
Etc.

The thing is liberals don’t post on this board. Most everything is right wing slanted on here and you can easily point out how hypocritical the right wing Republicans are. I know this bothers you. I know it bothers others. It’s why they quickly try to say liberal or something else and put all the faults of the other side on me. Because they WANT to argue with that. They don’t want to look at how full of shit THEY are.

You come here so you can lap up the crowd of others who think exactly like you. Let’s all get together and bash the left guys! The moment someone upsets the apple cart by pointing out that your precious side does the same thing you really take it personally. After all, exposing you wasn’t hard. Your own words did it and continue to do it. Big government doesn’t bother you in the least bit, the left’s version of big government does.

Which is actually fine, but don’t tell me you’re against the government expanding when you supported it for 8 years. Just say you can’t stand the left’s version of big government and would prefer the right’s.
