" foot in mouth and head up asshole , what ya talkin’ 'bout ? "
good stuff there . I saw TOOL on the 10,000 Days tour . very cool show .
hey Git…I noticed you stand on the short bands as opposed to using a platform or DB’s as anchors .
do the bands stay put on the bar after each rep ? or do they slide about causing repeated re-adjustment ?
I ask because I picked up the minis , mon.-minis , lights , and averages …and have used them anchored to DBs with fair success ; but it seems a bit awkward , so maybe the under-foot method is a better way .
Git, our gym USED to have this super awesome box for box squatting, but it “broke” and they took it away and stashed it in their pile of broken shit, HAHA.
IT WASN"T REALLY BROKEN, people just took the pins out of the height adjuster part and one of the legs slid out. Everyone is so retarded there GKLDJSGOKR:KLJSFJKLS
Sorry, I am somewhat sick of my gym at the moment.
Carry on world… [/quote]
An adjustable box…I would LOVE one of those. Maybe if you ask they will put it back together for you? I bet they would. doitdoitdoit

Seeing Tool on tour would be awesome.
Yes, the short bands stay in place on each rep. There is some band tension when you step on them which keeps them from moving around. I believe you could use doubled long bands (same length as a short band?..I think so) as well if you want to play with tension.
I have plans for a platform with band hooks but that won’t happen for a while.
thanks …I will try the under-foot method ; I’ll play around a bit , as it’s deload week , then give it hell this up-coming block .
I’ve played around with doubling the longs…it sucked for me . a short is quite a bit shorter than a doubled long .
I gotta start watching your log . your about 25% or so ahead of me , which is a good place to get ideas from…haha . so yeah , I’m gonna steal your ideas
DE lower day
Box squats (below parallel)
205 + doubled minis (+50lbs at bottom, +95lbs at top)
10 x 2
Good mornings…bands were already set up so used those
bar + bands x 6
95 + bands x 6
135 + bands x 3 x 8…awesome combination. Will do again. I can see me doing this as an ME lift since the band tension offloads somewhat in the bottom / riskiest position.
Leg curls
1 x 20
1 x 20…last 5 very hard
1 x 20…last 10 very hard
Bench…used doubled minis (rather the usual micro-minis) +50 at bottom and +90 or so at the top
Bar + bands x 2 x 3
95 + bands x 3 x 3
115 + bands x 3 x 3
135 + bands x 3 x 3
Tbar
2 plates x 6
3 plates x 6
4 plates x 6
5 plates x 29…thought it was 30. Some rest pausing on the last 10. That was hard.
Close grip bench against bands
95 + bands x 10
115 + bands x 8
135 + bands x 4
SOoo, yesterday I went and searched for the non broken box squatter. It was sitting upsidedown on a dolly, covered in dust, probably just about to be taken out with the trash!! I brought it back up to the gym and started box squatting.
AWESOME!
BUT…
I told the fitness monitor chick to keep it safe and she was all, “the leg’s a little lose” “The pins are missing” “this is unsafe” “we are liable if something happens to you”
FUCK NOW they are gonna REALLY take it away from me! I shoulda just hid it somewhere or something. Maybe I’ll just carry it home, HAHA.
ME lower day
Box pulls
135 x 3
225 x 2 x 3
315 x 3
365 x 3
405 x 1
435 x 1
475 x 0…fucker
465 x 1…PR +10lbs
405 x 3 x 3
Every time I do these I think “what a miserable height to pull from.”
Glute bridges (or whatever they are called)
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 5
225 x 10 (3 count hold at top)
First time doing these. I think I see the point. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
DE Lower
Want to hit hips and hams hard so switched from box squats to deficit sumo. Probably do box squats next week with some speed dead singles after. Or add chains to sumos. We’ll see.
Sumo DLs from 3" deficit against the clock…haven’t done sumos in a year so guessed my max is 450 x 50%
225 x 20 x 2 in 8:00 minutes
Then I did 5 more sets just because for a total time of of 9:56.
Then I laid on the floor for a couple minutes.
The sumos felt pretty good. I made sure to roll and stretch first considering the load on the hips due to the deficit.
BB hip thrusts
225 x 5
275 x 5
315 x 5
335 x 5
365 x 5
Lying ham curls
2 x 20
1 x 20 + DB (45s) stiff legs x 25…the DBs were too light but that was an awesome movement combo. I’ll do that again.
Deads day…doing stuff I haven’t done for a while.
I was going to do DL for more reps but I was feeling too drained. Rough couple of weeks.
Reverse band (orange minis) DLs
Bands looped over pins at nose height. The empty bar hangs just a bit lower than the normal DL starting position so I estimate -40lb at the bottom and -0 at the top (no tension)
225 x 3
275 x 2
315 x 1
365 x 1
405 x 1
455 x 1
475 x 1
495 x 1
515 x 1…20lb PR. Might have had another 10lbs in me but didn’t want to kill myself. No stalling points at all.Ã? I’ve had an issue with a sticking point just below knee height.
DB rows - Chest supported on an incline bench
60s x 3 x 15
Sumo DLs - reverse band
315 x 3 x 10…sucking wind after those
Happy with the PR. I always get nervous that I won’t show progress when I come back to something.
