Some don’t comment on this forum because of the personal attacks that come from those like you.
Somehow I don’t picture you being quite so nasty in person. Then again the internet does make bring out the tough guy in some people. Anonymity does have it’s advantages. Especially for internet tough guys. Ha.

What about free healthcare?

Hi Tarjei. The quick answers would be -
A. September 11, 2001
and
B. Free healthcare is a bad, bad idea. Look at how bad HMOs are now and quadruple that.
Medical costs are always inflating, and government funding never seems to catch up. Plus, the government manages to screw something up every time they try to correct something.
I am going to vote for Bush. I am not happy with how he dealt with steroids, it is under his admin. that got rid of ephedra and sone PH/PS (even though all that did start under Clinton), with the FCC and the defecit. But I dont see Kerry saying anything substantive on these isues. Steroids, PH/PS, DSHEA, and the FCC he hasnt said nothing at all. And the defeict all he says he will repell the Bush tax cut on only the 2% richest in the country. But he doesnt say that includes families who make $200,000 a year. To tell the truth you are not one of the richest if your household income is $200,000, its great money but not rich by any means. And he wants to deal with terrorism as a law enforcement problem. And he wants us, the US to be guided in our self defense by the UN, France, Russia, Germany. He keeps going on he wouldve got them onbaord for Iraq, but how? with this whole UN/Iraq oil/cash scandal that has the french in bed with Saddam all those years.
Kerry just hasnt shown exactly what he would do under these circumastances. What would he do , if like he said, Iraq was a threat with WMD and we have to go in because we arent getting no where with diplomacy, then the French say “NO NO NO NO NO NO NO”. what would he do then? say “OK” until the French say “OK” and go it alone because he believes our security is at risk if we dont?
I don’t know what I have been thinking all this time, but reading the bulletproof logic of the “right” has finally made me see the light. Now I understand. From now on I completely change my point of view… I am leaving the left forever. I am going to vote for Bush first and foremost. This week I am going to call in threats to the local theater for playing “F-911” and put the America-hating bastards in their place. Not only that, I am going to do my part here in the states in any way I can. Hey, if I see an Ay-rab on the streets I am going to do all god-loving people a favor and try to run him down. Why did it take me so long to come around to this kind of thinking? Abu Ghraib? That was nothing compared to what those diaper heads really deserve. We let those little fuckers off light! From now on, all Bush haters beware! Roy Batty is COMING FOR YOU!
Roy saw your starry eyes when you were sucking up to the General…you’ll never make a good republican. Stick to the tax hiking, military gutting democrats. You really are a natural!
Zeb? Buddy? Why you hatin’ on me? I’m one of you now! C’mon! Lets show those lefties how its done! Man… I can’t believe how long I must have been out of touch. Now that I can see things from the RIGHT perspective, it all makes sense. Bush really is an honest and good man for several reasons. First, he loves God and Jesus, the only true lord over all, and he just wants to civilize those godless assassins and make them see things the only true way. Second, he is a tough hombre who doesn’t back down to terrorists. He has shown real courage and character in this just war. We can’t let them see any weakness in our ranks, so we need to do this with or without the support of the rest of the so-called allies. They are just a bunch of cowards who need people like us to protect them.
Don’t you know by now? We’re so damn inbred and stupid we couldn’t figure out how to run one of them fancy decoder rings. We pretty much just say what we mean.
If you’re gonna play on our side, you have to learn the concept of honesty.
And he wants to deal with terrorism as a law enforcement problem.
If that’s true, that is his stupidest idea yet. With the general ineptitude of police we’re going to see all kinds of average citizens who don’t line up with the racial or cultural profile getting arrested for walking late at night, or even shot. Military and higher law enforcement are the only people who have the training and accountability necessary to be given the task of anti-terrorism projects.
The problem isn’t so much with the perceived (and sometimes accurate) ineptitude of civilian law enforcement as it is with attacking the products of state-sponsored terrorism rather than the source of state-sponsored terrorism.
Making terrorism a “law-enforcement issue” means that our country will stop removing terrorism at the source.
Of course, I’m aware that my above statements might be seen as an opportunity to compare Afghanistan and Iraq to Saudi Arabia, North Korea, and Iran.
To which I might reply that we simply don’t have the resources to deal with everyone at once.
To which I might receive either the reply of “That’s why we should bring in the international community” or “draft the senators’ sons” or some other nonsense.
And this argument might continue ad nauseum, with all the detractors ignoring the facts. Ignoring the facts is rather easy to do; if fact is on the Drudge Report, then fact automatically becomes meaningless, despite all evidence to the contrary.
-Mutt, who is an agnostic and not a member of the Republican right, and still agrees with Rush Limbaugh (aside from the religious stuff, of course)
I really hate election years. This is absolutelt insane! On and On like a broken record. Doesn’t anyone get sick of reading and posting the same regurgitated things over and over? I just read this thread from start to finish and it read exactly the same as every other of the 50 political threads started in the past 6 months.
I happen to think bush is the better candidate. Does that mean I’m a die hard Bushie? No. Does it mean I’m close minded or ignorant? No. Does it mean I lack intestinal fortitude? No. Does it mean I’m a pussy because I support his policies but am not currently serving in the military and acting out what I support? No. It simply means I think the country and my little sphere of life will be better OVERALL with bush in the whitehouse.
We have been hit with the worst terrorist attack in our nations history, been through a recession, toppled two very bad governments, Made a few other bad governments shape up a bit, women are going to school in Afgahnistan, executions and torture have been erased from a way of life, uncovered rampant corruption in the UN which we wouldn’t have without throwing Saddam out, Staged the single greatest MILITARY victory in the history of the world and my life goes on without hardly a bump in the f-ing road. I can still work out, play golf, go to work, have fun, chase hot girls, vote, play sports, drink beer, hang out with my friends, Etc…
Looking at the big picture I don’t see how there can be so much debate and nitpicking over little items like who married who or who served in what branch when. Who said this or who said this badly. Nobody here has any skill at debate, as neither side listens at all to the valid points of the other. Someone can post a reply with 10 factual valid points and one opinion that is not totaly based in fact and All of the replies will be an attempt to shoot down the on weak point of the argument or even worse, not adressing any points and just spewing more facts that say something else. Both sides are guilty of this.
You’re right, vegita. But it keeps me off the street.
Without out all of these pissing contests, or the my-dad-can-beat-up-your-dad wrangling, I’d be in a gang, possibly enrolled in a midnight basketball league somewhere.
Now what kind of life would that be for an egg-headed geek like me?
I tried getting on e-harmony.com - that dating service that has a 129 point compatability profile - and they told me it would probably be best for everyone if I would just stay at home and not talk to anyone.
