FRONT SQUATS! WORD!..you and o amaze me with that hand placement my goodness. I do hands crossed upfront, my wrists normal style. My wrists are far too weak to do that fancy oly style grip.

wait a minute…i did that luminosity thing for free…i assume its a freebie newbie thing. But i gave up. I am also now wondering if maybe I should have my legs out a bit wider for my front squats? I thought it was supposed to be a bit closer stance than my regular ones. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I THOUGHT THAT THOUGH? haha, I make stuff up in my head all the time…

Okay, here’s what I’m thinking: we need a thread to organize and keep track of who’s competing. But where should we put this thread? PW? Over 35 Lifter? Get a Life? Nutrition? I kind of want to put it somewhere more reclusive (like PW) because it would be annoying to have a bunch of outsiders commenting on it with unwanted advice.

People do front squats to build up the quads so a closer stance should be more beneficial Olympic lifters do them to be able to Stand up with heavier weights in the catch of a squat clean. Power lifters say they can help with intial leg drive on deadlifts so you would want to we similar stance as you do for those lifts is the thought. Me I do what feels right and beats my body up the least. Everyone is built different

Brutefury- That’s exactly why my boyfriend doesn’t play seriously competitive games on his computer. lol. I think it’s been worth it so far. Today I scored lower on everything than I have before… and I got two hours of sleep last night. It’s kind of fun to see how much things do affect your brain performance.

Today was pretty “blah” thanks to not being able to sleep again last night. If I get more than 8 hours of sleep one night, I just can’t get to sleep the next. Last summer I was sleeping 8-12 hours a night and ended up with insomnia. Everyone was asking “ARe you stressed out?” and after thinking about it, I realized that I was less stressed out than I’ve ever been. In addition, I’ve spent years of my life getting way less sleep than I should due to work and school. As a result, I think my body does not handle peaceful conditions very well. I’m fine as long as I limit the sleep to 5-8 hours a night and work hard on something during the day.

On the bright side, I was “stuck” horse handling and facilitating during my volunteer session today. I’m currently volunteering at an Equine Assisted Therapy program that’s working with the college I’m attending to complete a study on the hormonal effects on the kids caused by interaction with the horses. That sounds impressive, but in actuality, it’s a TERRIBLY designed study which has controlled for NOTHING. If it shows that there’s a hormonal change, that wont mean shit. But, in the mean time, this program is well funded and they are receiving a lot of interest in the curriculum they’ve put together for the kids. People apparently want to buy it. I’m not sure how they’re going to get away with making money off of it, considering that they’re using all of Pat Parelli’s material, but oh well.

Wow I’m tired and that was a tangent. Anyway, the horse and kids I’m working with are the absolutely sweetest, easiest team of personalities I’ve ever been assigned in a situation like this. I feel like I’m cheating. If you look in a direction or move your body just a little, this horse will move. The kids were perfectly behaved, showed the best team-work I’ve seen in a while, and did everything perfectly. I don’t know how many have experience working with kids and horses, but that’s a rarity. On of the girls, when asked what she would rate today out of 1-5, responded with “10! Because I didn’t get scared and I was assertive!” SO CUTE!!!

The food and workout stuff… not as great:

Breakfast: 20pts
lunch:10pts
dinner: 25pts

Total: 55pts.

also, I’m fucking sore from those lunges I did the other day.

On the front squats, it looks to me like you need to keep your back more upright on your way up. Think big chest.

I like the “Forever Alone” contest for hilarity reasons. Also, both 2busy and I randomly named our logs as a reflection of our solitude and everyone playing would be playing on the internet because there’s no one in real life who’s going to stick with it like we will :smiley:

I will make the thread right now. I think I am going to put it in PW because I don’t want a ton of people commenting on it.

  1. I took the name for the thread it was first discussed, Oleena’s “Forever alone”…
  2. Perhaps the mods would allow it to be like the BOI thread, where access to post is controlled.
