For What It's Worth...

About my Clean & Jerk, I thought more people would have asked by now! I’ve never been able to push past a bodyweight lift for that one (I’m a paltry 160.) By no means worthy of the title I use. But I love the pun.

A couple months ago my forum name was Puny@138 (I started at 138 lbs.)…pretty humble. That’s one of the reasons I get so irked about these mini-lifters posting their pictures…I came in here with humility…I got it. Why can’t they?

It all comes together now…either way I liked it better when you were coming up with euphemisms for giving oral.

This is a great thread.

but these noobs on the forum remind me of when I first started weighing 145 at 5’9(now 242 6’2), I didn’t want to gain fat. I wanted to bodybuild but was fasinated with strength. One day a person who used to bodybuild back in the 80’s(was still a monster) sat me down and went over everything with me, he asked me one important question that I will never forget, do you want to look big or do you want to be freakishly strong… I choose to get freakishly strong(not there yet not by a long shot this is how I got into powerlifting).(he was not saying bodybuilders are weak he did have a 400lb bench).

Moral of the story is if you don’t flame them but can actually have a reasonable conversation with them Im sure most of them will finally start to listen.

I hope some of these 130lbers see this post they will take some time and start asking for realistic help.

You and me both. In fact, no more posting. This thread is closed for business. I, uh, ran out of Surge…and we’re bankrupt. No posts, effective upon the end of this statement…I’m currently speaking…at this moment…now…at 1:50…when I should be writing my Celtic Language and Literature paper…PERIOD.

It would be a good post if it hadn’t been done a hundred times before.

Also, I explained the matter a bit more carefully than I’ve seen in past posts.

P.S: If you don’t like my thread…

I agree that your post was well done, but that dosn’t change the fact that the topic has been done over and over. I wouldn’t have clicked on the topic if it had given a clue to the subject matter.

Saying things like “I know you guys know what you’re talking about…” and then constantly trying to debate the advise given; or asking a question that could easily be answered by using the search or reading some articles is just petty and unfortunate.

Goodness, 'tis true. We get those types if we’re lucky. When we’re unlucky (most of the time,) we get a dude who shoots his mouth off when curtly informed that his paltry weight is not something to be proud of if you’re a bodybuilder. If we’re really unlucky, then he yells, “BUT I’M A POWERLIFTER, I DON’T TRAIN FOR AESTHETICS!!!” Then he goes back to post more front double bicep shots, looking no different than from before.
Yeah, that shit cracks me up, especially when they get verbally bitch slapped by Pro-X.
If they understood that their physique isn’t impressive among the truly impressive athletes here before posting pics, then they’d save themselves the humiliation of a “bad thread.” Then they wouldn’t be so defensive and emotional. I’ll cross my fingers.
That’s the part I truly don’t understand. How the F can you take a look around this site, with the PI’s and dude’s like Caveman popping out of the wood work, and think you’re shit don’t stink 'cause you’ve been working out for a year.

Personally, I don’t see them as “bad threads” if someone asks for help. But, seriously, if you ask for help/advise… and get it, don’t tell people they are wrong. These lazy mofo’s don’t realize what they have here.

I’d like to see one of them approach a big guy in their gym with the same kinds of questions and see what kind of response they get. I’m not a big guy (yet) and I just want to slap some of the people I see in my gym, I mean come on, how many variations of curls can you do in one f-ing workout.

What’s worse is that most of the “personal trainers” I see are out of shape (ahem, 24 Hour Fitness). “Ok, now we’re going to do push-up one-arm row combinations with 15 lb dumbbells.” (Yeah, I actually saw that yesterday) Good lord! Are you retarded? WTF?
Oh… and there really is no “Model T-Nation Member” (with the possible exception of Tiribulus.)
Well, then he should get an award… a t-shirt… or maybe a shoe, you know, so he can keep track of is BF %.

Seriously though, I’ve read some of his posts, definitely good stuff.
