Football Returns !

Anyone want to get a T-Nation fantasy football league going? PM me.

Lions are going to win the superbowl, especially after their amazing first round draft pick.

Yeah right.

The Packers for pro, don’t really know why.

Michigan and West Virginia for college.

Ray Lewis DID win a superbowl.

And he’s overrated as hell, and a dickhead.[/quote]

And Urlacher’s not overrated?

Boomer Sooner!

Okay, my Sooners were an outside chance at winning the National Title before Rhett Bomar pulled his little stunt, so I’ll be happy if they can get a BCS bid.

I would be thrilled if they could get another rematch with USC in the Orange Bowl.

I think this will be the first time in recent memory that there will be no stand-out team(s) going into this season. Last year, almost everyone knew that USC and Texas would play for the title at the end of the year. I don’t really see a dominant team going into the season.

Many people have Ohio State to win it all, but I just don’t see that happening after losing so many starters from last years team.

I think any team in the top ten has a shot at winning the National Title.

This may not be the year for the Cowboys but at least they should be in the hunt for the NFC East title. It’s nice to see the East rise from the ashes and become THE division of the NFL.

I certainoly hope the poster that said TO might be trade bait in a couple of years. I doubt we will ever see another give-away-the-farm trade like the Walker trade was - but anything we can get for TO would be a good thing, IMO.

As for college - the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. They actually have a qb controversy, and there is a blue chip transferring in from Arizona next year.

Defense will always be a problem for us since the team is all about the big O.

But they will go to another bowl, just probably not a BCS bowl.

I know pre-season polls are not the most accurate way of predicting the season, but I find these three polls interesting.

  1. Ohio State is number one on three different polls, yet lost what, 9 starters on defense?

  2. Texas is also in what anyone would consider a rebuidling year and is ranked 2nd in two of the polls.

  3. My Sooners, in the USA Today coaches poll, are ranked fifth but have more first place votes than Texas who is ranked second. Meanwhile, are not even ranked in the ESPN poll’s top 10.

  4. FSU’s rankings are odd, considering they are ranked ahead of Florida in the ESPN poll, yet aren’t even ranked in the top 10 of the AP poll.

These are just some rankings that stand out to me. What does everyone else think?
