You just saved me from setting my house on fire.

Haha, great thanks for the instructions, I’ll give that a go when cake mix becomes available to me, stupid stockpiling!

I have a recipe for homemade ones but it’s not nearly as good, which is weird because I rarely buy cake mix. But I do for these.

I don’t normally do much baking (outside of pancakes) but I made the coffee cake for my wife with the kids a couple of days ago and that worked pretty well (it’s gone!). So if you have a spare minute and fancy throwing up the other recipe I’ll give it ago at some point soon (hopefully)!

Thanks CL

Supermarkets are filling up again (or they were before tonight’s announcement). As long as you don’t want eggs or toilet roll, you shouldn’t have much issue finding what you want.

I might be halfway as good as you guys by the end of this :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You already got me beat on presentation. I’ll take one of the top things with a glass of O. J., please.

And since I’ll usually botch any given thing a few times before one is worth a pic, your execution must be pretty good too.

Thanks!

Most of my cooking at this point has been “mental imagery”. Research says it works for lifting, apparently it works for cooking too?

Mine often is too before it becomes a reality.

Unfortunately, sometimes there are some Big differences between what I imagined and how it turns out.

No imagery tonight! Left over chicken (from the kiddo) and newly made salmon with lemon, pepper and basil, angel hair with evo&garlic and sauerkraut pierogis.

It’s really just a mess.

But it’s the first thing of substance I’ve had all day. :relaxed:

Bean burgers for mom- ultimate quarantine meal (complete with bagels as bun because Walmart ran out of hamburger buns :joy:)

I’m not gonna laugh because I’ve done the bagelbun before on purpose. Not even desperate!

Throw on some hummus instead of Mayo and I’m all over it. :relaxed:

More food!

Any insanely hot mint chutney?

No, Jed doesn’t do hot, mint or even butter for that matter…lol We just have to stick to the basics.

1 package active dey yeast
1 cup warm water
2tsp sugar
Mix together and let sit until it gets foamy (5-10 mins)

1 egg
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tbsp milk
Mix in large bowl

2tsp salt
3-4 cups of flour
Mix the salt with a cup of the flour

Add the yeast mixture to the egg mixture in the large bowl. Add the salted flour and mix. Add another cup of flour and keep mixing. Then add flour about a 1/2 cup at a time until the dough gets just firm enough to handle. Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead for about 4-5 mins adding enough flour until the dough becomes satiny.
Place in bowl and let rise for about an hour or until it is doubled in size.
Lightly punch down and turn out on lightly floured surface. Pat into a circle and cut it like a pie into sections. Lighly knead the sections into balls and roll out thin (about 1/8 inch)
Cook on comal/griddle (what ever you have) over medium heat a 2-3 minutes on each side. You’ll be able to tell by the bubbles when to turn it over.

Still haven’t found that recipe I got from the lady at the library. I guess I didn’t like the cookies so I chunked it. Going to try out a new recipe today. Will let you know how it goes…lol

AWESOME!!! Thank you very much and stay healthy!!!
