I haven’t. Didn’t know that there was one, actually.

I’ll keep an eye out for that, and Thanks in advance. That could potentially be a game changer for pizza night especially.

I’ve never tried any of those. I just went with using more acids like vinegars and citrus juices.

Do you like them?

I don’t have to worry about potassium, or getting too much, anyways.

The proportions of sodium vs. potassium was one of the first things I realized was Way Off when I started looking into the heart health stuff.

Crazy how that flies under the radar within the public discourse of “healthy eating” and related subjects.

Hey! Long time.

Do you have any good sources for that? I don’t have heart issues, but I remember long ago potassium was my issue with muscle fatigue/achiness. Tried calcium, then magnesium, and it turned out to be a potassium insufficiency. I’m curious what healthy ratios look like. Are the nutritional label RDAs at all in line with it?

I just use the regular guidlines established by health/medical orgs.

I think most labels are within a range of accuracy. I just kept googling stuff as a reference until I got a good general Idea. Stuff like red potatoes, all of the squashes, black & pinto beans, etc. and incorporated them into a regular repertoire.

I tried using tablets for a little while but would often pass them undisolved.

Now I don’t even have to wait till fall to make my favorite pumpkin shakes.

I don’t know didly about cellular biology or chemistry, or plants for that matter! but I think its because plants use potassium as the primary driver of osmosis & stuff.

But I could also be way the hell off on that. Its totally just a hunch.

Anybody else buy watermelon for the weekend? This is the best watermelon I have bought in at least 5 years. Weighed 35lbs grown in Mason County Tx.

Jerk short rib sandwiches

Short ribs done in the oven, covered in jerk bbq sauce, broiled on high for 6 or 7 mins. Toasted ciabatta bread with butter, garlic and crushed red pepper. Added a few pickled jalapenos and a bit of extra jerky sauce. They were amazing.

Finally a worthy post from me

Happy Birthday America!

This was my plate for the evening

And the carnage, featuring the remains of a mini pudding pie my kid made for dessert

I wanna brag about how I did all of this on a Ninja Woodfire Grill

Earlier today. My contribution to a 4th bbq with neighbors. Not pictured was a brisket resting in a cooler.

About to go for round two while the kids hanging around set off fireworks.

A corporate event today that wanted crepes.

I hate making crepes due to an encounter with a French woman.

First one is smoked salmon with spinach filling, second is cinnamon apples and caramel.

And on a less fine dining note, my son had a hamburger cake he was really proud of.
