Food Before Workout

Alright the personal trainer i hired is also the owner of the gym so he’s quite busy.

The long & short of it is, the only time I can really get him when he’s not busy is 6:15am.

Now the past two sessions I never managed to get much food in me (Just a glass of milk). He gave me a carb drink to start the workout and drink throughout it, and gives me a protein shake at the end.

Anyway the workouts are amazingly intense (This morning i puked 3/4 of the way through my leg workout) and was wondering if it would be better to get a decent meal in me an hour or so before the gym? Or doesn’t it really make that much of a difference?

Yes it would help to eat an hour or so prior. But not if your going to spew it all over the gym that helps no one except some comic relief. Find out what you can stomach.

Your fasted after the over night period then having an intense w/o well that aint good on an empty stomach the carb drink will help but food with protein prior and some complex carbs for energy would be better/optimal. Or Surge a bit prior.

I’m up at 4am, at the gym by 5. I can’t do anything on an empty stomach, especially lift. My usual routine includes a whey shake in whole milk, and a half cup of oats, nuked, in water with some splenda and cinnamon. (Roughly an hour before workout). This seems to hold me over pretty well until my first “real” breakfast after my workout.

take Casien before you go to bed the night before your workout? and then just have breakfast an hour or so before your workout begins; this should provide enough carbs and protein for a workout.
