Beautiful article and beautiful numbers!!
Soldog - that makes sense. I’ll have to keep a mind on that. Any tricks to prevent it from happening?
Coyote & Mim - glad you like em ![]()
Personal update: for those that have been following up on non-lifting issues.
1- A few weeks ago, during my Toronto trip I faced my boss calmly and explained that calling my home was a no-no. That calling me everyday was incredibly frustrating and that if I was truly doing my job well than he should kindly give me space. I did not mention this to you guys before because I wasn’t sure how long it would last but it’s been almost a month now and I can honestly say my job is fun again. He phones 1-2 a week which is fine and send me emails on things that are not as pressing. I haven’t receoved a phone call at home. In return I have made a point of answering his emails and phone calls quickly. The point I’m trying to make is that standing up for yourself, when done politely and calmly, can never be a bad thing. We need to learn to chose the proper moments to discuss things AND be willing to hear what the other person has to bring to the table too. Anyway, just thought I would share.
2-Saw cute “belt guy” yesterday. He might have been in the gym before but I’m such a “zoner” that I didn’t notice. Anyways, between dips I noticed him and said hi, we chatted for a minute (showed him the belt he inspired me to buy) and he was off doing his stuff. Very quick and friendly. Perfect gym manners. I wanted to share this because we hear of horror stories all the time, but rarely about the good people.
need to start my day.
see you all laterz.

no tricks to prevent it - Just keep a watch on it in case it’s more serious or recurs. I went through a lower back surgery and spent too many months prior to surgery in pain because of a mis-diagnosis.
Nice work on the boss issue and great gym story!
Nice work on ‘How to handle the boss’ Mainy.
Great article! My mom always gets dressed in the morning even if she isn’t leaving the house. I never really understood why she’d bother until I started having a less structured work from home schedule.
well tonight wasn’t stellar because
1- I spent my day driving around and trying to find parking downtown. ugh.
2- forgot to take my vitamins including my D.
3- Did not plan my meals and end up downing an RTD and a handful of nuts for lunch and a protein bar pre-workout which I don’t really consider as food.
4- my ass, hammies and lower back were still toasty and achy.
Bench

185lbs 2x2 - PR + 1 rep - going to vid these on saturday morning when it’s quiet to check depth and form.

Can’t wait to see the vid.
What kinda juice you drinkin’ in the morning these days?
And those artistic back pics . . . wow!
Sorry for the non-stellar day.
Your workout is the definition of ultra stellar for me though
ya, gimme some juice too! ![]()
Hi Snap - I’m not a juicer, I think Molly is/was. My morning routine is basically oates with protein powder, frozen fruit, vitamin C, vitamin D, my multi and my hormones. Maybe a swig of unsweetened cranberry juice
I’ve been eyeing a juicer and icecream maker but as my condo is pretty tiny I don’t think I’ll do it right now.
Thank you for the thumbs up on the pictures. I have a few ideas brewing…
Nikki - I left my belt at home, hence no crack. prolly why me workout wasn’t as fab;)
MIM- no juice sorry, but I can make you some protein icecream? I’m sure it would suit your diet.
I was speaking to a gym buddy about needing some coaching to help with my heavy lifting. He mentionned that the Y near my place had a big black dude who had been lifting and coaching for ages. He’s 74. Also Diana sent me a link to a really cool lifting “playground” with tires and stuff near my place, a short drive. It would be more expensive than my current gym membership but maybe I can check it out once in a while.
Anywho 'tis friday. Last bit of craziness before the weekend. I have a supper club get together tomorrow at a Mexican place with plenty of food, booze and buddies. I’ll need to hit the gym on saturday because I have a feeling I’ll be nursing a hangover on sunday.
…
Finally got a chance to read the article. Very nice ![]()
And great way to stand up to the boss - it certainly can be intimidating at times.
Btw, those dips are amazing! So impressive.
Despite the lack of stellar, still looks like a great training sesh. Good job Frenchie!
Farmer’s walks 4tw.
Awesome stuff N, good for you in managing a decent workout even when tired.
Have a kick ass weekend
I think you should go to the “playground” as much as finances permits. I’m so jell-o of everyone flipping tires and crap ![]()
What’s up with PW and Mexican food? Gawsh, ya’ll are making me hungry.
