Whoo hoo look at all the PR’s, congrats.
I didn’t realize I’d wake up to read such fine writing on Tnation. That’s a beautiful recount of an incredible dream. In describing the dream, you suggest it was your mate who saw you through the ordeal. But it was you–you were the strong one, the cunning one, the survivor.
Oh yeah–those PRS and that so close to a body weight bench kick ass. Congrats!
Shit damn fuck, you’re killing it all in the gym N!
And wow, your ability to describe your dream so clearly is amazing. I never remember mine!
Wow Mainy! That is quite the dream. And of course I’m a firm believer in the esoteric, so we could have a field day analyzing your dream front and back! Off the top of my head I can say this:
Travelling by river, and being pushed down a river, signifies your path in life - so your feelings in the dream surrounding this is an important signifier of how you’re feeling at this phase in your life.
Wolves (when not menacing) often appear to women in their dreams as guides, and as a reminder that you need to stay loyal to your quest, to feed your freedom and return to the part of you that is authentic and not domesticated.
Birth = new changes, often related to something creative (although in this world most things are creative). You should pay attention to the details of the birth and the child since this will tell you a lot about what the big change is. But I will say this, birthing in dreams is a big deal - are you going through a powerful change mainy?
Finally, what’s most important is that you feel at ease when you woke up! That means everything.
Its funny you say you have a furry soul - hah! I believe it. And you are very feline. My animal is the turtle - so not so furry ![]()
ps. great PRing woman! RAWR!!
Very interesting dream, I have had dreams about dogs since I was a little boy. I always just assumed its because little boys like dogs, and I refused to grow up.
Nice benching! And interesting dream. Masch is right about the birth = creative thingy.
I woke up after dreaming about a girl with a flamethrower. I put that down to the fact I was playing Mass Effect 2 before I went to bed and shooting people with flamethrowers. Er…
As for totems, don’t know what to think about that but it certainly seems as though you have a creative mind.
Wow Maine… I got a contact high just reading about your last two workouts! And that dream recount really shows your artistic talent is in more than one area. Wonderful read.
Masch caught the most important dream aspects so I’ll just throw out a little totem animal… The wolf is “teacher” medicine. Probably because early men learned from wolves. Wolves have cooperative societies as people do and early men modelled their pack hunting techniques on those of wolves. The wolf is associated with the moon and its energies. The moon is always representative of feelings. The moon is also associated with psychic perception. Is this an area that you have explored? Personally I am too eskeered to explore this! The wolf often has to do with a balance between social dominance and working in a pack. Among animals wolves are some of the best at communication. You communicate strongly both verbally and physically. Someone with a wolf totem will often be strong in these areas: Teaching, Leading, Communicating, Healing. I also see the wolf as characterized by deep faith and piercing intelligence. Thats quite the totem animal you encoutered there Main!
Thanks for sharing in the PR celebrations everyone. Feels good to know some people understand the struggle.
I don’t have these strong dreams often but when I do I stay in bed for many minutes piecing it back together. I know they are strong dreams because all my senses are involved and hightened.
Maschy and Hallowed special thanks for helping me read my dream.
River, path in life: I felt focused and driven towards something. Not afraid, not drowning. In total control but going somewhere specific. Which means I’m in a good place in my life right now. Moving, pressed but not fearful.
wolf: I do have part of me that would love to say screw this life, I want to travel and be free. and on the other hand I feel very protective of my family. My work, my proximity allows me to care of them and that is more important than “freedom”. I do allow myself travels and new experiences (diving) which really feels good to my soul.
birth= creativity, I would say my photography. I’ve concentrated more on my art since May and I love where it is taking me. The birth itself was simple and quick. Like an animal would give birth. a few contractions and a push. Nothing dramatic.
Hallowed - the points you’ve brought up are both flattering and humbling. If the wolf is my totem than it is an honor, truly.
drove around 400km today and solved some crazy work issues between appointments while driving. Now I’m beyond pooped.
Supper will be steaks served with roasted baby potatoes (different color from light beige to deep purple) flavoured with good quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar and roasted asparagus. And a nice bottle of cab. it’s been that kind of day.
I’ll catch up with everyone later.
very cool dream, Mainy. Your recollection of the detail is impressive. Now I want a totem…
Thanks Plucky:)
the recollection was so specific because
a- I woke right after the dream and took the time to remember
b- I actually got out of bed and wrote it then and there. had I waited until this morning I don’t know if the story would have been the same.
Maschy - I associate the turtle with wisdom. Indian lore believed that the world was held on a turtle shell. You hold the world on your shoulders. I think of Ghandi when I think turtle. There are different kinds of “power” in this world.
…
Where’s my plate?
I thought we were friends N ![]()

it was salad followed by lemon pepper salmon and broccoli for me tonight. thinking about ice cream later since I haven’t filled out my weight class yet, hehehe.
N., your bench PR is so inspiring to me. You’ve worked this for so long, and finally you’ve gotten some great results. There is hope for me too, I think.
Mmmm. Steak and cab. Perfect cold weather food.
Nikki - that second placing was for you but you were to busy being a drama queen so I ates it. lol.
soldog - filling a weight class seems to be a very good deal! ice cream it is.
kimba - yup a full year of working on my bench before I finally broke through. I used to bench like a brotard and not reach my chest, flat back, no leg drive…
if I can do it, anyone can. There is def hope for you too!!
Don’t lie to me, I know that’s your hubby’s plate ![]()
