Focus on the Essential

Oh I love Klimt. Not that he’s an Impressionist - I just love his paintings.

I watched Little Mermaid while getting inked up and thought of you.
Is that weird?

The strength that hides behind your beauty is pretty intoxicating.
Dear Mr. Print, you always have “le mot juste” to make me smile. The perfect compliment for this crazy mermaid. A sincere thank you.

I honestly hadn’t realized until I posted all the pics up. I suppse we try to emulate what we like

Why don’t I know about this artist? I would have been all over that when I was an art major.
Google him, you won’t regret. I know him because we had a show at our Museum of fine arts - his work was breathtaking in real life. I’m a big reader and I feel his work is very strong on characterization and story-telling, as though they could be peeled of the canvas.

I love the mermaid picture. That’s exactly the form I’d look for doing embroidery. It’s very feminine and sensual. It sort of puts me in mind of some of the stuff done by Klimt; not mermaids but the apparent love of the female form.
Absolutely love Klimt - a visionairy

yeah mermaid! I never could figure out Ariel - I would have given my legs to live in Atlantis. i suppose you always want what you can’t have.

This weekend was a total character builder. A challenge for body and mind but I made it through and now I am a tired and euphoric super-woman.

Saturday:
1- 30 minute dive to practice bouyancy and such
2- a 50 minute dive to practice using a compass under water
3- a 20 min night dive in very low visibility

 • had to remove the wet&cold wetsuit between dives 2 & 3 and put it back on. At 7:00pm at night when the temp outside is hovering at 0 degrees celcius. Cold and clamy is not how you want to feel before jumping in the water. We did it though, pushed beyond the mental barriers and found joy in being under water.

Sunday:
1- deep dive at 100 feet
2- free dive

the deep dive was the real mental challenge but went super well! My regulator began to free flow at 70 feet. This happens often enough in really cold temperatures, at this depth the water was like 4 degress celcius. I had to use my teacher’s emergency regulator while she fiddled with my tank and then switch back to my own regulator. Sounds simple above water but when your 70 feet below the surface the idea of letting go of your source of oxygen can be pretty panicky. I managed like a pro, we fixed the issue and kept diving.

After these dives I am beyond tired and pretty beat up. I need to pack my bags, spending the week in Toronto for business and flying at 7am. Ouch. Can’t wait for Mexico to dive again

cheers

freezing mermaid

yay freezing mermaid!

you’re still hott, and thats what i was getting at!

love the old school wicked mermaid pics. and your feetses!

I don’t know about hot… I felt like a cross between the loch ness monster and some evil leprechaun. lol.

oh my god cold scuba!! --eeeekk…yeah…that diving shinnanagins is too scary for me :{

you’re brave! did you see anything cool under the water? fishies?

the quarry is pretty boring but safe which is the point for newbie divers. there were some fishies though, nothing exciting. the true fun will be when I travel in the futur… so much to see!

That’s making me feel cold just thinking about it! I bet diving in Mexico would be a breeze compared to the chilly waters in Canada.

My teachers were saying that Quebec and Russian divers are known as some of the best in the world due to the extreme conditions. Some of my crazy teachers even go ice diving. That just might be my limit.

It is so cool that you are doing all of this! you are going to get to see so much stuff so few people ever will…pretty amazing!

ya, I’m envious that you are taking charge and doing something you’ve always wanted to.
I want to hiking through Ireland, so I’m studying up. Thats what Im training for
