Focus on the Essential

blast my stupid french translation - meant to include you too Git as part of the scallywags.

Thanks Nikki

7th day in a row if I include my sprint day. I am rocking this shit right now and milking it for all i’ve got. something about not hitting my maxes keeps me not too sore and ready to hit again. I’m lining myself up for sprints tomorrow morning and total day off on sunday.

Today

Giant sets of 6x3 reps - because it’s friday I treated myself to 1 less set of each
1A deadlift
155 175 185 195
205 215 - had to reset between reps on these to keep proper form
*started lower in my pyramid but ended up higher. Last week I had stopped at 185lbs
1B Dumbell Snatches 6x40lbs - added 5lbs to last week’s session
1C abs: jacknife with 5kg medicine ball to chest 6x12 reps (not 3)

2A Bench 6 x 105 - added 10lbs to last week’s session - really focused on keeping my arch after unracking.
2B Barbell Row 6x95lbs
2C Pushups on 2kg medicine ball - used smaller ball = tougher.

accessory work:
glute ham raise 3x12
facepulls 1x35 1x45 3x55

had a wonderful rare steak and baked potato for lunch which totaly fueled my workout.

have a great weekend everyone!
N

Now I am very hungry for STEAK, but salmon is on the menu post-workout.

Those are beautiful deadlift numbers. Very, very nice.

Your numbers are almost as attractive as you are. Great pulls, better pics.

Kimba: salmon is good stuff too but like you I’m a sucker for a good rare steak

Print: thought those pics would tickle your fancy, or something else.

Was falling asleep on the sofa at 9:30, made it to bed at 10:30 and woke up refreshed and energized at 7am. Again hardly any doms and ready to take the world.

Went for sprints this morning.
15 seconds sprints followed by 15 seconds rest.
Began with a 2 min warmup at 3 mph.
1 x 9mps
7x 9.5 mph
3 x 10mph
finished with 1 x 10mph for 30
2 minute warm down at 3mph.

Some ab work:
hitting the punching bag at waist height with 12lbs exercise stick 4x25
3 kg medicin ball throw holding the jacknife position 3x12

v-crunches with 3kg medicine ball held at arms length 3x8 - hadn’t done these in years and was rather uncoordinated but as we all know switching it up is good stuff.

babysitting my niece today. She is turning 1 tomorrow so her mother can get the house cleaned and food prepped for the party. damn time flies.

This is what I got her for her birthday with some clothing.
Nothing but the best for my cookie-face

on a side note I would have gotten her something fun but everybody’s getting her toys and my brother needed a high chair. They’ve been using the transportable one that you strap to the dining chair except that she’s getting bigger and can swing around dangerously in it.

can’t wait to see their face!

Never seen a highchair quite like that!

Baby looks good on you, btw

Damn! Oh well…I quite enjoy being a scallywag

Yep! You tickled it alright.

I’m w/MIM, you and the kid look good together. You both have sunshine smiles.

V-crunches suck. Its good only after they are done with.

I know nothing about high chairs, but that is a stylin’ piece of furniture.

Thats one tricked out high chair, that kid will be eating in style.

Sweet high chair - that’s a piece of art!

I think I’m gonna have to try out that punching bag ab work of yours - looks interesting!

Great pics from the other day! and cute kid!..you have it all woman

Those are some nice front squats.

btw, the picture of the baby made my ovaries go PING!

such a cutie pie! and the kid ain’t too bad either…

that chair is the rolls royce of high chairs! what a lucky girl to have such a lovely auntie. You’ll be such a wonderful role model for her. That makes me smile.

btw, nice sprinting!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Only 1 year old and already one my favoritest peoples. I must say she is a mini-me of her Daddy (my “little” brother) of whom I’ve always been protective of and close to.

Although I don’t feel some deep-down yearning urge to have children of my own I do have a blast playing with them. I have 4 nieces ages 1-8 and I pride myself in being da cooolest auntie in da wurld. and hopefully as Maschy pointed out a role model and confidante.

but really Florence (my brother’s daughter) holds a special little spot. How can she not when she gives me the brightest smiles when I go visit? My brother says she keeps those for me. too sweet.

OK nuff baby talk. The birthday is in a few hours and there will be an orgy fest of baby-gushing then.

On a different note I went to the circus last night with a friend and his 7 yr old daughter (my god-daughter)- it was her birthday a few days ago. It was really kitchy-cute, classic circus. With elephants, dogs, horses, jugglers and accrobats. We had popcorn, cotton candy and fresh old-fashion donuts covered in sugar. I have a freakin sugar hang over today! wow. I’m good for another 10 years before going through that again. Oh wait. I have birthday cake in a few hours.lol.

The weather is beautiful down my end. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

P.S. I have recruited a begrunging husband to help build the chair so we can give it to them all done up. I hark back to Alpha’s log who mentionned the value of a man who can build stuff (and I’ll add read instructions properly). I’ll cook him a nice roast as a thank you. Here’s a valuable marriage lesson.

Men who make stuff…sexy!

My hubby is one of those too. He can make something outta nothing and is always so creative. Not to mention he’s got survival wilderness skills and can hunt us some dinner

love it.

Shit, I’ll build you a high chair if I can get a roast.

I’m sure you are an awesome role model and auntie.
I mean c’mon, you got a sugar high just for them.

So… how was the cake? yum

Thanks Nikki - the cake was good but it was not pie.

And i’d cook you a roast freely if you’d let me watch you eat it without utensils

^That’s beautiful. Was that hard to do?

I’m guessing your talking about the high chair? It came in a box to assemble which was surprisingly easy to put together. If anyone’s experienced the crazyness that is Ikea furniture, this was surprisingly well made. The instructions were a bit funky but I guess some of it was lost in translation. It took us 20 minutes. Not cheap for those with the budget for such things I definitly recommend.
