call me weak MIM - me and my carbos are too tight
cereally I have the type of personality that if you remove it completely I go bonkers and totally binge. I’d rather choose my carbs carefully and be in control than go through a box of cinnamon toast crunch followed by raw cookie dough or icecream and a box of cookies. well, you get the idea. part of my bagage growing up in a poor strict family. I had to “teach myself” that there can be more food for later. I don’t have to eat in all in one sitting.
I get you…I have food baggage too that I didn’t even realize.
Make it off limits and I automatically want it a million times more. even if its not stuff I normally eat. Don’t ask me how I’ve been able to diet like this.
I guess since it’s not forever and there is an end to the madness. I like your choice in junk. If I was going to binge I’d totally do the cinnamon toast crunch!
first day back and you set a PR - methinks you’ve been sandbaggin’ frenchie!
nice re-entry session
Yay! Back in the gym and already PRing - excellent work mama!
I’m with you on the weight fluctuations and the chins/pullups - an extra pound or two and I already feel the weaksauce while i try to haul up my fat arse. But just think, if you drop those 5 lbs, it would’ve been like you were doing weighted chins/pullups and then you’ll be stronger! No?
Lol! As for my music…well…lets just say i’m from NYC, I have big hair and I’m latina - there’s a lot of booty bouncing music on there. HAH! But yes to Prince! And Zeppelin happens to be my favorite band of all time. So to my credit, I’m not all fist pumping…awkward silence
Thanks soldog - it’s not like I aim to get pr’s in my cable pull’s
I just tried it for fun and saw that I could do it, kinda. lol.
Maschy: too funny, I have a few booty bouncing songs that I keep for the cardio. but I won’t admit to who. I prefer to look all hardcore and snarly growls

i am a cereal killer as well…if i get drunk and late night run into a box of just about any kind of boxed sugary goodness… hyenas could chew my legs off before i would stop eating it.
I am a weak weak man

I either have no cookies or I count them by the dozen.
Congrats on the PR frenchie.

Same here on both accounts - i can never have ‘just a bite’. Its all or nothing!
I’ve gone through sleeves of oreos in one sitting, and nevermind the inebriated late night munchies. I’ve even had diner staff look at me aghast upon placing my order and ask “are you sure?..” But this is precisely why work out so hard and why I love the warrior diet - carb loading ftw!

I had a waitress bring out the cooks at a breakfast place because I ate two giant blueberry pancakes, six egs, four pieces of bacon and an order of biscuits and gravy with sausage.
Sadly I am the same way about tequila and Jager as I am carbs.
warrior diet eh?
Binging is not my problem, but “bad” food definitely is. Pizza. Chai lattes. Dumplings.
Right now I’m going for moderation, not a super strict diet, especially since I want to get stronger, but I have to remember to actually say no to things.
Yet, you can still do a couple of chinups despite the extra 5 lbs. That is a HUGE strength gain!
I have a chocolate bar sitting here that I brought home from Belgium. It is exquisite, delicious 70% cocoa chocolate. My favorite. I have eaten one square every few days for a few weeks now. About half the bar is left.
Trust me, I understand the eating-everything-in-sight moments. But most of the time I’m fortunate enough not to want the food enough to do something that ultimately will make me feel bad. Its always all about the wanting…

no smokin, no alcohol. This is so easy when I put my mind to it…

Good! Just put your mind to it more often, and the thought won’t cross your mind anymore.
Awesome workout nlmain, like there’s some sort of magical unicorn giving you super strength or something.
Alpha: cereal killer - I’d eat it ![]()
Joe: which cookies? I’m a chocolate chip fan myself. or oatmeal. mmmm. or melasses. or or or!!! fortune cookies. Once I ate a box full. That must have been bad juju.lol
Alisa: The one way I keep from eating too badly is by planning. age old wisdom. If evermeal and snack is planned there very little room left for extra. And weekends I usually indulge in a few social suppers.
Kimba: love dark chocolat. currently enjoying 70% cocoa with organic coconut shreds in it. divine. and like you I eat a square once in a while. I can totally eat “clean” 90% of the time as long as you don’t tell me to remove all carbs. I’ll eat clean carbs - whole rice, oats, sweet potatoes. but let me have em. It’s just that on vacation I lose my head, which is good for the soul as long as you can find your way back home without the flashlight.
Ink: shhh!! don’t tell em about the secret unicorn. everyone’s gonna want in and we’ll have to share. ![]()
I was falling asleep on the sofa last night at 8:30. By 9:00 my husband woke me up and told me to just get my darn but to bed. slept from 9-7. Today I was refreshed, had a great day at work - good sales. Very happy since our fiscal year is fast approaching…
Today was squatzzz
squat 65lbs 1x5 - for the stretch on form. haven’t done those in a while.
95lbs 1x5
115lbs 1x3 - felt hard
135lbs 1x1
155lbs 1x1 - felt easy. not convinced I hit depth. time to pull out the camera again.
135lbs 1x2
115lbs 1x5 - wanted to stop at 3 but breathed and pushed for 2 more. lost some ground on these.
wide grip cable pull down
85lbs 1x8
105lbs 1x6
95lbs 1x6
75lbs 1x8
GHR - first time doing those and had to fight the fear of smashing my face in.
2x8
1x12
abs: cable crunch
85lbs 1x12 - easy
105lbs 1x8
115lbs 1x8
pushup on medecine ball
3x8
treadmill 2 miles in 26 minutes. tough cause my legs were fried and my cardio has died during my vacation.
food still on:
oats, choco pp and rapberries
almonds
tuna on spinach with plain yogourt and pesto for dressing
pre-workout snack: pp
post-workout supper: mahi mahi baked with cherry tomatoes on rice and spinach.
cheerios
Oh oalmeal cookies are wonderful, as are peanut butter and chocolate.
Damn fine lifting Frenchie, ruuning after squats is always rough.
push ups on a small med ball are hard…they don’t hurt your wrists?
That would be almost like a tricep move as well if Im imagining it right.
Joe: the running was tough, my legs were really tight so I altered the speed between 4-7 miles per hour. Rest at a brisk walk 4, then jog at 5 or run at 7. Tomorrow is rest so I can give my legs a break
MIM: got the idea from Maschy, a total tricep movement too. I was waiting for the dip chair but someone had monopolized it for half an hour with his dirty towel. went for the ball pushups instead. There can be wrist pain, you have to experiment on hand placement to find the best fit.
Yum, I’m coming over for dinner. There better be leftovers.
Good stuff N… now I’m talking about the workouts and the food ![]()
way late to the party, but those are some fantastic photos, nlmain. congrats on your 6 year wedding anniversary!
i’m with you and kimba on having a small bite of dark chocolate and leaving it behind. it’s a controlled bite that i find most comforting just before going to bed.
do not, however, put a bowl of ruffles and french onion dip in front of me…
jealous of that mountain retreat-especially since you had a proper glass filled with wine nearby!
Nikki for you I’ll make a fresh batch. Or bake something better… like a frenchie sandwhich ![]()
T!! always a treat when you drop by
ruffles and french onion dip… isn’t that Kimba’s bad treat? Maybe you and Kimba are really the same person! just teasin. Hope work is letting up a little for ya.
