…
Just read through this thing …good stuff in here. Thanks for taking the time to keep up with it, keep up the hard work and great job on the deads
Sounds like a really awesome weekend and week you got coming up, chica. Looking forward to the artsy pictures you’ll have loaded up…right?!
Hi Alpha: thanks for droppin in - I’m still gloating over those deads. Seems a few weeks ago I was struggling with 185lbs.
ink: pictures there will be! and wine, and hiking and bears oh my! lol. can’t wait.
first impressions of diving class:
-got there at 5:30 left at 11:00 totally exhausted. That was a damn long day.
-there are a TON of little things to remember but I’m trying not to get upset. Just like when I learned to drive 2 years ago, eventually it all becomes second nature
-our class is too big to get the proper attention.
12 students, 1 teacher and important survival skills is no bueno.
-Had a panick attack when they tought us to clean out our masks underwater. Something about having the water up to my nose and eyes and the regulator in my mouth… Eventually I got the task and practiced on my own until it was a breeze. I was not letting this little thing stop me. I do have to rememeber to stay calm and focused.
-not moving in cold water while the proff made sure everybody got the exercise made for a bunch of shivering brain dead students…
-fell asleep from total exhaustion but now going through some insomnia as my brain is wrestling with all the new info.
tomorrow another long one 12-10pm. wish my luck.
Diving is weird - it’s odd reconditioning yourself to actually breathe underwater. My boyfriend bought me a dive in a shark tank for my birthday one year (there’s a large aquarium called Blue Planet in northern England where you can go in the shark tank) and I was slightly freaked out the first time I put my face under. I got very cold there too - the tank’s huge but not really big enough to swim around so you more or less have to walk on the bottom. It was a great experience but I was ready to come out by the end.
I’m sure you’ll pick it all up again really quickly. Good luck with it.
Ugh that’s so long! But anything worth having is worth… yeah, I don’t know the saying but you get it ![]()
12-10pm?! Omg, with that long class you better find Atlantis and swim with a damn mermaid!
mmmmm mermaid. or merman. I’m not picky.
humms “under the sea…under the sea…”
I wanna be where the people are…
its my favorite movie…glad you got over the tummy problems.
Hey Mim: all the exercise I’m doing in the pool for the diving class (3hours a day) has got my appetite roaring. No belly aches. I just have to remember to drink enough water and eat. My favourite is beauty and the beast because
a: protagonist is a cutie brunette bookworm
b: she is a total fur-lover
I kinda feel it was made for me except at the end I would have dumped the prince and kept my handsome beastie.
2nd day of diving class from noon to 10pm. Today felt way easier, the whole process was more natural and no panick attacks. Another long one tomorrow. I’m thinking I’m nuts to start my vacation this way but up here in snow country I need to take care of all these before october for my trip in January.

I feel so awesome knowing what movie you’re talking about here. I also feel awesome that I can probably sing all the Disney Princess movies, who says having a little girl ISN’T cool?!
it’s cool in my log Ink - not sure it would fly elsewhere but I will def give you props! ![]()
Well thanks, I won’t repeat that anywhere else one here though!
Hope all’s awesome!
3rd day of closed water diving certification noon to 11pm. Felt more confident and in control, past my theory exam and all my skillz test (you know I got em ;). That was 27 hours of diving classes in 3 days including 16 hours in the pool. crazy stuff. I’m just so glad I chose to do this during my vacation because going back to work tomorrow morning would have been brutal. Believe it or not swimming and walking around with 50lbs of gear on your back for 4 hours straight is one hell of an exercise. but don’t despair some lifting will be done this week although I plan to keep it “light” so I’m not crippled by doms for the open water certification section saturday&sunday.
have fun in gaspe!!! can’t wait for pics!
N., have a fabulous vacation! Even a scuba mask gives me claustrophobia, so diving isn’t for me. But I’d sure want an underwater camera if I ever did it.
I bet all that water work is burning up calories like mad.
Gaspe for the win! leaving Monday. We plan to hike an expert trail in high altitudes that is known as the moose and caribou trail. So exciting! maybe we can get close enough for a few pics. We’ll def bring the long lense. Went shopping for some high altitude hiking gear OMG the sticker shock. I was ready for a certain price but it end up being double. each. holy fuck. now I’m poor.lol. at least that stuff is guaranteed for life and we do enjoy our hiking. This week is relaxing, planning, prepping and relaxing until my open water dives saturday and sunday. These are set up in a quary with 20 feet of water. And then Monday 6am we hit the road.
the swimmer in me is jealous of all your water time.
and the hiking time.
you better bring back pics.
bitch.
will do Bear Mam! ![]()
I hadn’t realized how draining all that water time would be, and carrying 50lbs of gear through it all. I’m still totally at 0 energy. Happy but tired. I’m going to calculate those 3 intense days as workouts. Maybe tomorrow or thursday I’ll do a light gym day but I’ll give myself time to recoop properly.
Tonight is french rabbit stew with home-made demi glace, fresh thyme and red bordeaux. Silly wabbit is going in ma belly. It was nice to shop for my stuff during the afternoon when it’s quiet.
oh yeah and vacation time plus wine is good for the soul and couple time too ![]()
