No, all your stakes are.

If you want to or not.

Quite a difference.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

The smallpox that the Spanish brought over that wiped out up to 90% of the native people before the first English colonies were built.

The smallpox blankets appear to be extremely isolated incidents. The make for good America bashing but little impact except for the very few that may have been infected.

The westward expansion of America was into a post-apocalyptic area. The native culture had been essentially removed by smallpox and the few remaining people were dealt with in a number of apparently unjust ways but it was a natural consequence of vast tracts of bountiful land being sparsely populated.

But is is better to just assume America is evil and make throw away statements about smallpox blankets and genocide.

All of that is pretty much true.

So you got continent a without much killing.

Is that itch not quite scratched yet? Does Americas collective soul feel it misses out on something?

Nope. Why do you think America is trying to wipe out a native people or start colonies of Americans living abroad? All we want to do is make things better by making sure tyrants and mass murderers are not in charge of the worlds energy supply.

A noble goal.

So you are developing alternative energy sources while strenghening your enonomy and becoming the words technological leader in that area at the same time?

Or do you take the same amount of money and take a course of action that not only kills people but also has the serious risk of backfiring, like in Iran?

I seriously believe that you wage war to wage war. It is a business, nothing else.

We certainly are spending significant government and private money in these area. Unfortunately most of the government money spent looks like it is wasted on silliness.

Yes. Iran was real friendly before we liberated Iraq.

You are seriously deranged.

He’s not the only one to hold that belief. Numerous notable Americans in the government pointed that out.

I’ll take that deal. So now that that’s settled, seems like you have nothing to complain about in this thread anymore, right?

What? That it did not kill as many people throughout history as the Europeans or Muslims? Are you just projecting collective guilt upon us?

What the hell, we did not strike back when they took our people hostage, unlike what the Europeans did to the Chinese during the Boxer Rebellion.

We did not strike back when they killed our Marines in Lebanon, took hostages there and killed many of them.

Yet, throughout the 80’s and 90’s we took limited action against the terrorists, and they just got bolder and bolder until they attacked our own country.

And now that we stuck back, suddenly, we lust for war, we are evil, we are the bad guys… Tell me, how does that work?

No clearer evidence of your hatred for America required.

Has Austria’s collective soul felt satiation with the mass murder it took part in?
Absolutely.

Contrary to most Americans we also know what war looks like.

Not a few thousand miles away, right here at home.

When I say I believe you wage war to wage war, I mean that you have a powerful “defense” industry and allready big mercenary firms with deep pockets that can easily pay enough congressmen and senators to swing votes.

I also believe that the military has more social significance and that promotions come faster while there is war somehwere.

The Rumsfeld doctrine fits right in there, because it calls for ever more sophisticated and expensive technology and for less troops on the ground.

That means lots of gadgets to sell to the US government and very few (American) fatalities which do make such nasty headlines.

Even big oil profits, not by exploiting Iraqui oil, but because wells in the US that were not productive at 20$ a barrel are making a shitload of money at 60$ a barrel.

So all in all I think your foreign policies has been highjacked, or is at least seriously influenced by, very powerful financial interests.

I do not know if the neo cons are bought and paid for or just useful idiots .

edit: And Zap if you could please point out what exactly in this theory points to a deranged mind.

Thank you in advance.

Sure.

Anybody thinking that money plays a serious role in American politics is deranged.

Time to take the red pill Zap.

But you could not stop until we made you. Your bloodlust was insatiable…until you finally got your ass kicked. You didn’t stop because of some choice or noble morality. You had no choice in the matter.

How dare you ask more of us than your father and his friends’ generation was capable of!
Because we judge you by the values you claim to hold dear?
