Flying to Australia with TRT?

Hi, I’m flying to Australia from Asia, currently travelling but im British ( not sure if that matters to customs lol)

I pin twice a week but I’m sure Australia are very strict about any anabolics so it’s got me a little worried.

I was going to preload my syringes for the 4 weeks I’m there, I don’t have a prescription to take with me but I do have a letter from my Dr from last year that states I am a patient of his and I’ll be carrying testosterone and syringes, do you think they will be ok with this?
It is stamped and has all the clinic info on etc.

The only issue I have is I am actually no longer at that clinic, so if they call him I may not be down as a patient anymore.

Has anyone flew to Australia with their TRT stuff before? How did it go?

I would think their going to want a prescription, if your doctor is actually treating you he can provide a prescription.

That’s true but I’m not in the UK to see him/get one.

Maybe I’ll just take 250mg in one go and ride it out and continue my normal regime when I’m home.

I don’t want to risk being denied entry.

It’s possible, but I’ve travelled with vials before (in my name) but without the prescription. never been stopped or questioned (with syringes, needles etc)

If you want to do it just do a vial and when you get here go to the needle exchange place and get syringes.

QLD and NT are the strict states you’re thinking about (possession can net 20 years in jail, but that almost certainly won’t happen if caught with small amounts)… same goes for drugs in general, these two states are incredibly strict, with even cannabis possession being a felony capable of inducing jail time… however if caught with a small amount you’ll probably get off with a fine and/or criminal record with good behaviour bond/ offered a diversion program.

Possession in other states are more lenient than say… The United States (they’re schedule IV drugs here, which is typically the equiv of schedule IV/V in the US), penalties are fine/ up to one year of imprisonment if I recall correctly for prescription.

Given that you have a prescription, at worst if detained I assume they’ll contact you’re doc to sort things out. Customs typically aren’t looking for anabolics or even personal amounts of illicit drugs, I’ve travelled with syringes, needles and vials (with prescription TRT in them… I typically bring two sterile vials, both with a prescription on them, once with my TRT and another with whatever I want… both have my name on them and are specified as being prescription medication). I know people who have travelled with weed, painkillers, benzodiazepines, z-drugs (for flight) etc without a prescription… Chances are minute that they’ll care, they’re draconian (customs here) but they’re looking for food/envirnomental contaminants (we are an island after all with a balanced, overtly sensitive environment prone to disastrous change if new ecological factors are introduced accidentally), bombs/terrorism, large scale narcotic importation/smuggling and black market tobacco smuggling… they could give a rats ass about someones LEGALLY acquired TRT

I live here and have returned with said vials, never searched… but it’s best to be safe and keep confirmation of a prescription on you at all times. Put it in checked baggage when travelling too.

I literally just came back from Australia. I literally just put everything in a ziplock bag with the prescription note into my book-bag. I’ve never been stopped once and I travel around the world. You’ll be fine.

What did you bring with you?

Everything. The vial, syringes, needles. I travel almost every week domestically and internationally and I’ve never been stopped. I just came back from Australia and had no problems. This trip I went to Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand without any problems.

This is exactly what I’ve done

I’ve done the same. Never had any issues. It still freaks my wife out but I’m sure on the x ray machine it doesn’t look any different than insulin stuff and they probably see that all day every day
