I figure this thread will be seen more here as opposed to a “hidden” post on page 6 of the Grow! Whey product thread.
I think it would be a fantastic idea if there were more versions of this product, but with regular Vanilla, Chocolate, or more flavors if Biotest chooses. I say this mainly because I use Gourmet Nutrition/Precision Nutrition almost daily (I know many others here on T-Nation do also), and many recipes call for Vanilla/Chocolate Whey protein. I don’t want to sacrifice quality and go to GNC and buy some Vanilla/Chocolate whey protein blend.
Also, I’m tired of adding my own little ingedients that make the natural flavor only taste a little better (like cocoa powder), and I think that if Biotest makes a Chocolate version, it will put mine to shame.
While we’re at it, how about some of you post some Chocolate/vanilla recipes for Grow! whey protein shakes, but ingredients that won’t add too many calories (e.g. unsweetened cocoa powder, splenda, etc).
And I apologize if there was a similar thread about this elsewhere on the forum, but after doing some searches (maybe I used the wrong words), I just think there hasn’t been sufficient discussion about this topic.
I would like flavored Grow! Whey also, but couldn’t you use Metabolic Drive until then?
I know it calls for Whey protein, but I would imagine any other brand of Whey wouldn’t taste nearly as good as Metabolic Drive, and would there be that much difference in your overall results using a slower acting Whey/Casein mix?
I agree, I would love to see some flavored Grow! On a student’s budget I have to make sacrifices sometimes, like using GROW when I can’t afford the Metabolic Drive. I would love for Biotest to make a flavored version of GROW because the “natural” taste of it makes me gag sometimes.
That’s funny, I found that the natural flavor was a more satisfying taste the the usual chocolate and vanilla suspects. I’m for different flavors, just don’t take away the natural version and please don’t raise the price!

I’d much rather prefer to use all-out Whey pre/post-workout, and save the Metabolic Drive for bedtime.
I don’t think that the Natural Flavor is nasty by any means, but I figured if Biotest puts their head into a chocolate/vanilla version, they can develop a kick-ass, premium quality, delicious blend of whey protein.
Using unflavored whey as your main supplemental protein source? Flavor it up with fat-free, sugar-free instant Jell-O pudding powder. Just a spoonful or two works perfectly. I like to add pistachio or butterscotch to two scoops of Biotest Premium Quality Whey along with a little ice. Try it!
Agreed, it would be nice to have a Vanilla flavored Grow! Whey.
I’m sick of the natural flavor it was never very good to begin with. I’ve been recently adding a bit of Metabolic Drive to my whey shakes in order to modify the taste a bit.
