Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

Im just " touching grass" at the moment. So i have nothing to say regarding anything at the moment.

Fair enough, the thing I’m thinking about probably requires touching grass, some people want help, some people want to tell everyone how smart they are by asking for advice they don’t actually want.

My Grandpa used to say ā€œIf you’re so dang smart why aren’t you rich?ā€, and it’s such a wonderful guiding principle for so many of these folks.

I am upset that he co-opted the name of my favorite video game Villain, but he IS playing the part well.

I love the subtext to the conversation, that knowing a lot about dangerous substances, somehow makes you immune from the risks.

The potent immortality of youth plays a role there too.

But it’s also fun to watch, because I see the growth we all go through on there. I remember being that age, and how, if someone disagreed with me, I HAD to prove to them how I was right and they were wrong.

And now, these days, if I see a dissenting opinion, I just say ā€œHey thanks for your opinionā€ and move on. I don’t really see a need to win the internet.

Which seems to upset a LOT of folks that want a fight, haha.

I guess im just too old or just seen so much on here its not worth the effort… At most ill ask a rhetorical question and move on.

I ask a lot of feeler questions to posts these days just to see if there is any actual buy-in from the poster in the first place. We get a lot of drive-bys. But for every 1000 knuckleheads there’s one kid who actually shows up to learn, and they make it all worth it.

Yeah the drive bys have been insane… Yeah finding someone younger this day and age who wants to listen and learn is like a Bigfoot sighting.

:man_shrugging:t2: whuut?

What else is there?

.

Reminds me of my favorite question- ā€œDo you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?ā€.

I rather enjoyed the declaration of ā€œI’m a pharmacology majorā€, which apparently made him an instant master of all chemistry related effects of drugs. Maybe I should go to NASA and apply for a job, claiming I’m an astrophysics major, so…you know, hire me. I know just as much as Carl Sagan because, you know, my major.

You know when I first embraced the internet forum on here ( or the internet period). The one thing I just couldn’t wrap my mind around how some posters acted.

I mean the level of shit talking that takes place by certain indviduals is hard for me to get. Because these indviduals wouldn’t do it to the same indvidual face to face.

Its like really… Your 5 foot 4 at 145 lbs never been in a physical fight in your life and your going to aggressively shit talk the guy that has 6 inches on you and 100lbs of beef with a 5 bench and has anger issues?

Got to love the keyboard shield.

Honestly… thats not far from the truth from first hand experience.

My oldest is finishing up his Phd in human physiology and does human performance research while only in his late 20s.

For awhile it was from him regarding his lifting … ā€œI know what im doing, im more educated then you.ā€( didn’t say that exactly, but it was implied)

As of late I have noticed… Um dad can you look at this ? Whats your opinion on this ?

Guess he needed someone with first hand experience of someone with maybe a little more " Bro" science background…

I hear you man. All the damn time now I find myself realizing that all the stuff my dad tried telling me when I was younger, that I blew off and chalked up to him being old and preachy, was actually based on HIS years of experience and his trials and errors. I constantly curse myself for not having listenend to his wisdom…Unfortunately, you just cannot tell a young kid much of anything, for whatever reason they seem to think they are smarter, more educated than you, and only in hindsight and years later do we realize there is a lot of value in an older person’s actual experiences.

Just like in the gym, or with regards to AAS, you can read books till the cows come home, read about what a particular substance should do in theory, but often times the best knowledge comes from someone’s actual experiences because they take into account real life variables that a young kid never thinks about.

Honestly, anymore im taking a you do you mentality, since ive become jaded. Occasionally I might do something to stir the shit out of boredom or for my own entertainment.

Only time I honestly get worked up is when someone gives out advice or an opinion that could be actually harmful if implemented by someone none the wiser.

Let’s be honest… a large % are looking for confirmation and not advice.

This is true of humanity in general. We’re a funny species, but also a predictable one.

Can confirm

… You got to admit it can be comical when someone ask for advice and the information doesnt align with their conclusion. Then they proceed to inform others they are wrong.
