Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

I have a potato cat.

And a fierce basil gaurdian.

I’m basically a wizard.

I confess I learned what “triggered” feels like this morning.

I got a notification that my friend (that one)‘a advisor will be presenting their paper at the econ seminar I attend to this afternoon

Complete meltdown for a solid 3 minutes.

I also confess that I want to go to the seminar out of morbid curiosity even though I’ve seen drafts of that paper probably once every two months or so since he got a 1/2 a first draft out two years ago.

I’ll probably skip seminar today bc the analysis class after it already makes me feel inadequate enough

I confess that this gets me every time I’m at Trader Joe’s

Oh little plant based “sausage”, why must you lie?

You are not chorizo.

Freshly baked ciabatta bread, thinly cut, then slices of fresh mozzarella and large home grown tomatoes, prosciutto cotto (I guess that would be ham for you guys?) and a general helping of pesto genovese.

That’s as close to perfection as it gets.

Not all of us are terrible.

Every time I got a new doctor (do to moves/insurance changes or whatever) I had to see dietitians connected to that medical group. Didn’t have a good experience with any of those. Glad it’s working so far with this one.

I confess that I actually love my student insurance.

No copays for medical testing, including a very expensive scan that would have been thousands out of pocket.

Either that or the hospital and labcorps magically forgot to send bills

I attended an actual gym for the first time in about 3 years and did something pretty stupid, not sure if anybody clocked it or not.

Obviously i was very excited to use equipment i havn’t had access to. Walked over to a plate loaded hammer strength lat pulldown which had a 20kg plate on each peg, sat down and did a warm up set. Added another 20kg on each peg, still felt way light so walked off to grab a few more plates (obviously im strong as shit) when loading the next set of 20s on i noticed another set of pegs and my now obvious mistake. Looked around and tried to style it out like i was getting the plates lined up for a pyramid set.

Felt like a newb in an actual gym.

It’s a good thing Publix’s hatch Chile cashews are limited edition or I confess I would not lose any fat this T-ransformation

The only way I can control myself with cashews is to eat them unroasted and unsalted.

Almonds also.

Almonds I can control on unless they are like the pepper flavored ones.

Cashews should be sold in the candy aisle.

I’m in the roasted but unsalted camp, but I’l eat 10 servings without even thinking about it.

I went off the rails again. At this rate, no way I’ll get to my goal weight by testing day :sob:

I know I’ve been talking about stuff to do with productivity and all the last few posts but when I search for details on the functionalitites of the tools I needed to USE to provide a visualization for ONE OF THE THINGS I wanted to implement for business stuff I need like those graph note taking software and apps like Notion that give you a really nice customizable interface to write stuff with the AI assistance for a cheap personal plan…

I confess I get distracted by nerds whom aren’t programmers who need to keep their stuff synced with github or some code editor which I don’t even use it for since the only thing I would require would be a Jupiter Notebook but that would be only used on occasion to store data nerd stuff as potential assets, who tell me that something like Obsidian is how they are “productive” but they cannot possibly be productive if they are using Obsidian to run their fucking lives so from now I’m either only asking my tech guy or GPT.

When did the idea of “Personal Knowledge Management” become such a thing? How the fuck has “note taking” been interpreted as “NOTE WRITING”??? You don’t fucking WRITE notes to do shit and tag and label them. You TAKE notes WHILE DOING SHIT and tag and label them.

Look, MS and google are the ones who KNOW what productivity is. If I’m really organizing PERSONAL work stuff that I need for ongoing use, I use ONENOTE. Anyone who talks about “note taking” (what the fuck???) + productivity and doesn’t tell you about Onenote as a free MS product and the entire Google workspace components like docs and sheets doesn’t know what the fuck productivity means.

PS, the side tabs feature in the ms edge browser rocks. See the context? When you use a browser you are most likely DOING SOMETHING SPECIFIC if you have lots of tabs open. When I’m done with the stuff I need from the side tabs, I DON’T NEED WHAT WAS IN THE TABS FOR REFERENCE ANYMORE if I USE THEM in the stuff I’m doing. If I didn’t use them in the stuff I’m doing, they were not useful or I would have used them. In the future, I refer to the stuff I COMPILED AND PRODUCED FROM ALL THE SHIT IN THE TABS, not the shit in the tabs.

Confession:

I am a terrible christian. I believe in Jesus, but I don’t go to church nor do I read my bible.

In the past year, I have made some effort with this christian organization for men on Saturdays, but then I got lazy again.

At least I have the lifting and career thing under control.

If I keep this up, I’m probably never going to get married, definitely gotta change that.

I was baptized, then 19 years later had my last rights.

Does that mean I graduated?

I used to think football games were long events. I was wrong.

Track meets are the longest most boring events as a parent. My son runs 2 races (and I am proud of his performance 5:46 second mile today) but he stays to support his team.

Been here since 8am and don’t think I am going to be out of here until 530 or 6 pm…

To be fair, this is the only requirement to be a Christian.
Many churches (I believe) interpret the Bible poorly and miss the point with a lot of off thinking. My wife and I stopped going to church because we couldn’t find a local one who’s reading of the good book aligned with ours (mostly, finding a perfect church probably doesn’t happen.) we left a church because we found out they believe in conversion therapy (abuse) for LGBT youth.

I fully appreciate the irony of confessing to being a terrible Christian
