Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

I haven’t done enough research to be able to have an opinion I’d trust on the matter to be honest. Since my masters, I’ve stopped studying politics. No real interest in it.

I confess that I have no recollection of family plans being cancelled over disagreements concerning Bush vs Dukakis in 1988. Nor do I recall any family members cutting off contact over disagreements about that new MMR vaccine.

Back then if you had an opinion you wanted widely known, you put a bumper sticker on your car or your locker and dared the trolls to fight you about it in-person.

Don’t forget Thanksgiving. It was like a once a year facebook wall.

I saw a large sign(?) (I think the driver can still see through it) on the rear window of an SUV that said “Fck Biden" and the best part "fck all you people who voted for him” in smaller letters.

It was in the parking lot of a large supermarket. I confess I laughed out loud, and looked around for a few seconds, hoping to give a thumbs up to the owner of said vehicle.

Although I confess I agree in large part with that sentiment, I confess I was much more “admiring”, if you will, of the fact that this person was willing to lay it out in public display vs. hiding behind some social media platform.

I confess that Maine leads the way in vulgarity on vehicles out of everywhere I’ve ever lived. Vulgar license plates, too.

My all-time favorite bumper sticker is apolitical, plus there are many wholesome variations on the idea.

I once saw a car with a fake ponytail sticking out of the trunk.

The bumper sticker said “if you’re going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair”

I confess this was funnier before i saw a middle-aged guy sporting a mullet and aviators behind the wheel.

As an honour student who also beat ppl up, idk what to make of these :stuck_out_tongue:

I can relate to the last one.

“Stay gold Ponyboy.”

I love that novel - even if it was written by a teenage girl.

After your reply, I just had to know more!

Susan Eloise (E-Lois?) Hinton wrote “The Outsiders” when she was 16!

Her publisher convinced her to use her initials so male reviewers wouldn’t dismiss the work of a female.

I’ve known “S.E. Hinton” from English class and as a Jeopardy answer for years and years but never realized that she wasn’t some old guy writer.

Thanks for the info, Teach!

Fun Fact:

Diary of a Wimpy Kid was, in fact, written by a wimpy kid.

start off every group project with dividing work and assigning roles/responsibilities. Once those are agreed upon, if someone else fucks up their part - that responsibility lies entirely on them.

Also, this is just school (looks both directions for nearby children)… honestly it’s not that important.
