Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

Yep.

LOL. He actually did stop the wife bit after I told him what a pos he was for doing that in an anonymous forum, nonstop.

Was the wife thing just the frequent comments he made about arguments and the like or was there something specific? I didn’t always pay attention lol

It was literally nonstop. Getting to the point where it was like being forced to look at someone’s dirty laundry, except only one side knew it was being aired.

About quirks in behavior that I’m sure everybody has to some extent if truth is told.

Been working more and haven’t had as much time for forum shenanigans. Still check in about 1x/day to like a funny comment or something.

In his defense, though, he made a solid turnaround after that conversation. He was much more likely to highlight his own foolishness or a win for her, and he spoke much more lovingly about her. If I’d encountered the reformed version I’d not question that he loved and respected his wife.

After the change, I found him funny and likable. Is he arrogant? Sure, but aren’t most of us here? Some of us are better habituated to humility, but I think a shared personality trait is self-pride. Most of us practice things most people don’t, and whether we present with modesty or not, we’re aware of it.

My best friend loves it when I’m mad at someone, husband or coworker, because my plans for vengeance are imaginative and delightfully (to her) vindictive. I rarely actually do anything, and am satisfied with blowing off steam through imagined retaliation, but…occasionally.

I like him. He shocks me with his practical jokes and ā€œgotchas,ā€ but presumably his wife met him before they married and was aware, so I’m good with it and can enjoy the spirit of fun he brings.

Yeah yeah, I was referring to constant practical jokes and aggravating pranks. I didn’t mean to attack dude.

He was just always talking about responding to emails in the most annoying way possible or giving ambiguous non-answers to simple questions.

I’ve been finishing off a bunch of peanut butter Finibars with expiration date Oct '21 -tastes like cardboard, even before they officially ā€œexpiredā€. Just had a Nov '22 bar yesterday -tastes much, much better, would eat even if not for a workout.

I confess I’m now thinking of adding to my current stash of 4 boxes, but am wondering about when the transition to cardboard taste occurs…

I confess I’m having an unplanned cheat day today.

Breakfast was ~17oz (weighed raw) of roasted pork belly
The crispy skin…

My justification is that I hit my deadlift max yesterday despite not being peaked and using worse equipment

I woke up feeling like eating everything

So, my town is a total dumpster fire right now. I ordered a few more masks for myself yesterday, and I confess that I am more excited about them arriving than I should be. If I told myself three years ago that I would be excited to pick out new face masks, I would have laughed so hard.

Damn right! We hit -35 with the windchill here in SD on Thursday. I was talking to a friend in TX and he asked me, ā€œhow do you even feel -35 degrees.ā€ Me: ā€œThat’s the beauty part. You don’t feel ANYTHING at -35 degrees.ā€

We are hardcore, my dudes. Hard.Core. (and quite possibly clinically insane).

Yup! I tell people the same thing. ā€œWhat does -60 feel like?ā€ ā€œExactly like -25: your brain runs out of ways to understand cold beyond that. You just die faster.ā€

I stayed up late and got out of bed too late to get in all my food for the day. Currently stuffing my face with sweet potato as I meal prep. About to go get whataburger just to get some calories :grimacing:

I made a barley/black bean chili concoction that is very high caloric density and easy to eat, which is the opposite of what I really need right now.

But it’s my winter food.

Some of my family’s from South Dakota, and I grew up hearing about how some winter days would be so cold, people would be warned over the radio to not go outside until the cold lifted.

I went to college for a couple years in Alamosa, Colorado. It was colder then, and the night temps would regularly reach -10 without the windchill. We’d assess how cold it was according to how quickly our hair froze when stepping outside the dorm after showering :snowflake::joy:

Gotta admit, that father-son bonding moment in the new season of Dexter was pretty damn touching.

I confess I freaking HATE the cold. I don’t even like to watch shows or movies set in the snow. Makes me cold to watch it. I’ll take the Houston heat and humidity in August any day.

My ipad and apple pencil arrived this morning. OMG I had NO idea how much of a difference having those tools would have on the quality of my sketching

I can play with colour, automatic symmetry, eraser, different pen sizes, eraser.
THe app I’m using even automatically generates layers so I can add different elements to the dresses without messing up what I had
