Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

Yep, and any thing that is reasonably priced on selling sites is gone in seconds and some prick has re-listed them at 3 times the price!

I am starting to see some of the stuff ā€œunder 2 years oldā€ being posted for sale now. Still a too highly priced but down from where it was (at least in my area). Now that the major companies are getting stock again it should revert. Some people have been trying to sell cast iron for $3 or $4 a lb here.

I’ve had songs slow down mid squat/deadlift. Then I’ll get a slight ringing and slight loss of hearing for like 30 seconds then back to normal. Only happens on DW stuff and widowmakers if I’m pushing them very hard.

Does 30 years of labor around heavy machinery and shop equipment count?

Mine is constant.

I confess that I find it badass when lifters have a pen and journal with them in the powerlifting section of my gym. You can easily tell they’re serious about their training.

If there are any fellow degenerates of the Indian race who are here because you have nothing better to do:

Happy Diwali!

I woke up today not really feeling hungry, but I really wanted to stuff my face with something.

It took a LOT of discipline not to grab a stick of butter and start eating it

100%. In the gym and other places lol idk why

I have tinnitus from playing the piccolo and it seems to flare up when I brace really hard or if I’m really tired

More than once I’ve experienced the three beep EMOM countdown as a single.

I confess that, armed with the Air Fryer my wife got me for my birthday, I feel as though I am taking it as a personal challenge to discover what CAN’T be air fried.

Holy cow I love the future.

I confess that I’m letting work reduce my trading right now. I hate it but as a self employed person looking to retrain I need the ££££

They’re just mini convection ovens, so the good news is you can cook pretty much anything in them, the only disappointing part is that air frying isn’t a real thing and convection technology is nearly 80 years old, haha.

Seriously, though - you can cook anything in them, from ribeyes to cakes.

The school gym will be closed 3 days for thanksgiving.

I could do bodyweight conditioning stuff but at this point, I just want to take the time off…

Given that I have been relying on slow cooking and pressure cooking, going back centuries, and grilling (Grok cook meat on fire), this is like The Jetsons for me, haha.

I confess that I am proud of myself for developing a simple trick to make sure I get my meals in. When I get home from the gym or class I don’t change into my pajamas. This keeps me from laying down on my bed because I don’t want outside germs (lol the terminology my mother uses) on my bed. I don’t change until I eat. When I lay down I will get too relaxed and then I will start to procrastinate.

Not much of a confession, but I managed to reach the low end of my goal for running through the woods today. 25 miles in 6 hours. Far more mentally challenging than physically, and my body was starting to quit on me around mile 16. That’s a 15 mile running PR. I guess my confession is that, despite it being like 30* most of the day, I stopped for an iced coffee on my way home like a true New England heathen.

I had it pointed out to me that 1980 and 2021 are chronologically as far apart at 1939 and 1980.

It’s like when I realised that the Beatles realised there albums 15 years before I was born. 15 years before my kid was born was things like MMMbop and I’ll be missing you.

It feel so wrong

Yeah, it does. And makes one feel kind of old too.
