Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Thank you. Yes i’ll definitely try reading a book and avoiding screens. I do quite a lot of walking as well, it clears my mind a bit. Plus I can’t stand anymore being sitted all day long I’m starting to have back pain.

But these three weeks of miserable sleep and depression are starting to have a toll on my physical health. I’m always tired but I can’t sleep, did some training yesterday but had poor energy, and I generally don’t feel like doing anything

Watched some more of her videos. She’s got great taste in music.

Confession: The song above is from a movie called Spirited Away. This is the only movie in the world I can’t watch without bawling like a little girl.

Duuuuuude. Same exact problem here. I may actually deadlift more without my current belt (4" 13mm) than with it because it hits my ribs and hips rather than fitting between them. Have you ever considered a 3" wide one? I will say that a “real” belt does absolutely help your lifts if it fits between your ribs and your hips.

I have a 3" Pioneer belt, it’s a nice piece of equipment. Never used to a 4" so can’t make a comparison, but I’ve never regretted the purchase either.

Damn I should check these 3" because it’s the same for me I have often bruises on my hips after heavy lifting with my belts. It is not bugging for squats but horrible for deadlifts

I am 5’9 and have so little torso that my top 2 abs run into the bottom of my pecs and I have no solar plexus. Can still use a 4" belt. Belt bite is just a part of life.

When I use my belt for deadlifts it will actually pull my back out of position and my injury potential skyrockets, especially with conventional.

Belt bite is a source of pride and I embrace it, but what I’m talking about is structural. Could be that I’m a candy ass or am not wearing it right, I’ll admit that.

I learned I had to push the front of the belt down a bunch for deads.

I’ll have to try that when I go back to using a belt again. I’ve learned a lot about deadlifting and my personal spinal health since the last time I used a belt consistently, so things could have changed.

I’d bet I’m wearing my 4" double prong leather belt wrong, or it’s a piece of shit, or both, but I finish every deadlift day with purple pinch marks around my hips. My core always feels protected, though. I think if it wasn’t uncomfortable, it would feel weird for me. Again, this could all just be my bad technique, but it works.

These are legit permanently burned into my hips, along with some psoriasis where the squat bar rests on my back. I’d say you’re doing it well, haha.

I completely fucked up my calc exam…
Even worse, tt was open note AND open book

This will literally be the first B I’ve ever gotten

No worries, it’ll be offset by the A++ you just scored in humblebraggery 101.

seriously, how the fuck did I manage to screw up an open note open book exam in what amounts to an intro course

I’m here to confess that I don’t recall any calculus whatsoever, despite getting an A in the class almost 25 years ago. I’d need to look up how to find a limit or first derivative.

I’m actually quite impressed that I can even recall those terms. All of my highest-level math studies happened to coincide with being quite high. It’s all been downhill from there, cognitively-speaking. Nowadays I’m lucky if I can correctly identify most shapes and use a calculator.

I thought I just had bitchy skin and that’s what has caused the permanent red line across my back…this would make a little more sense. haha

You’re finally being challenged!

I’m considered “tall” and the deadlift feels like the only lift that fits my body (out of the big 3). But I’m not 200 kgs so there’s that.

Well, my training really revolves around those. Remotely far from heavy weights (yet) though. And yeah, still progressively trying to get better at bracing

@ChickenLittle actually the funny thing is, there are some dishes that aren’t that spicy even if it looks spicy. But yeah, agree that sometimes it’s just better to not have that much chili so you can still taste the food itself

@garagerocker13 , @mr.v3lv3t I’d rather have 4" inch equipment than 3"…LOOOL. Kidding aside, yeah I have considered it. But like @T3hPwnisher said, the bite is just part of life. Not as bad ass or as strong as him though

@garagerocker13 have you tried 10mm?

@anna_5588 dishonor!! Actually, where I studied, we were sometimes more afraid of open book/notes exams. Because that simply meant the answers weren’t there or as clear cut as you’d think it would be.

Yeah, get the belt. There’s a world of difference when bracing compared to a velcro one.

Very true. I think the chick is from Sichaun. Some of the dishes made by rural folk has LOTS of spices and chillis during the winter months because it’s a cheap way to keep warm. You really can’t taste the food. The green chilli will rupture your insides if you can’t handle spicy food, though lol.
