You have never told us that they have kids that are smashing life out of the park…
Just a PSA:
Costco is selling 5.5lb bags of optimum nutrition protein powder for $35. Idk if they’ve always sold it but just found it tonight and got some. So much cheaper than GNC.
Let’s hope they never forget who’s shoulders they stood on lol
Congratulations, btw!
Doing what exactly?
Well… I guess I did my father job ok.
Or the owner of the wallet they have raided over the years…lol
Any parent that thinks they overspend on their kids have not met mine ![]()

I confess that when scrolling down the list of updated topics, my eye for some reason are drawn to those with edibles in the titles. (Steak, cookies, beer etc)
Sigh, it is going to be a long winter…
Lots of things.
I only lately realized that for adjustable DBs, putting the smallest plates inside is way more convenient and gives a lot more room, even if it looks weird.
Here are a couple from the past few days:
- My legs are complaining after only doing 34 reps in my workout TWO days ago
Corollary: I really want to go back to bed - I’m very tempted to get back to distance running, but my knees get sore
- Pickled herring is delicious- fight me
I bought some too. Costco always carries that protein, but its standard price is around $50. They sell it for $35 once, maybe twice a year - this is when I’ve noticed it’s consistently on sale.
Confession - my post-workout meal tonight was two giant deli cookies and two glasses of milk. Delicious but not helping my T-ransformation cause.
Last night I finished up the first truly disappointing book about training I’ve read. Finish is a generous term, as I skimmed though about the last 1/3rd of the book thinking “wtf am I even reading here?”.
Don’t leave us hanging here man.
Confession: I’ve really let my conditioning slip
I tried the 7 min burpee wod this morning
In the past, I’d been able to get at least 105- this morning, I did 98- finished 100 in 7:10
Confession- I don’t even know what a burpee is.
Edit: Looked it up. I guess I do know what a burpee is, just didn’t know that was its name.
Confession - working out at home sucks. I miss the weights and “the pump”.
I have always considered it a horrible, high-impact exercise used solely to get the heart rate up in conditioning classes.
We used to call them X count body builders, depending on if there was a push up, a jumping jack, or both incorporated.
I imagine they were a lot easier when I was 65 or 75 lbs. than they would be now, which is as close as I will ever come to finding out.
I can tell you for sure the guy who invented them definitely was not 6’3 and 280.
It’s one of what I call “small guy exercises”…
