Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Haha I have all sorts of tricks to reduce the use of utensils, pot/pan, boards, etc to the bare minimum. Over the course of a year, a few pots, boards, etc at each meal adds up to a lot of time and a lot of motivation to get done.

I see my wife cooking and there will be 4 pots/pans goinf, 2 or 3 chopping blocks and multiple knives. It offends my sensibilities in a way that I’m sure seems insane to most.

In fairness, if time is a priority I’d have 4 pans/dishes going at the same time as well

I will literally use the same bowl that I ate my morning eggs in to defrost shrimp for lunch, then rinse that bowl to plate said shrimp, then rinse again for protein pudding in the afternoon and finally for my veggies at dinner. Throughout that process, I use the same pair of chopsticks and spoon.
My mom calls it disgusting, I call it efficient

It’s like when I see Jamie Oliver’s 15 minute meals and when I do it, it takes me 45 minutes to clean up the 6 pots, 2 pans, blender, oven tray and 3 chopping blocks he uses lol

I just make sure to time things. I’ll start with things that need to heat up or stew, and while waiting, prep other stuff.

I like cooking on a stainless griddle because I also use it as a cutting board.

Once upon a time after going to a Hibachi style restaurant a couple of times I almost took a course they offer to learn some techniques and play chef.

I still might build a grill to do that at home, but heavier gage stainless sheet is kinda spendy.

I am unreasonably excited about a smokeless indoor grill I picked up today. Which is, of course, some manner of irony, as my meat consumption is way down compared to my glory days.

When my husband refused to wash his dishes that he leaves lying around the house persistently, I went ahead and packed away all the dishes except for 3 of everything. Passive aggressive but effective

I did the same thing to minimize clutter.

Can’t have a sink full of dishes if there aren’t enough dishes to fill the sink, can you? :joy:

Eat the entire pot everyday - then everyday is the 5th day!

Have you read Ian Fleming’s original James Bond novels? They mop the floor with the movies.

It’s too messy. It’s not about portion sizes, but about having enough room in the container to adequately be able to mix. I used to make the whole thing as a pudding with protein powder back in the day, but I’d still have to scoop it into a container so that it wouldn’t just get powder and yogurt everywhere.

Couldn’t you just spoon the yogurt into your mouth and then spoon in the other stuff. Mix it in your mouth as you eat it. Then you only have 1 spoon. If you are worried about the same spoon for both items then worse case it’s 2 spoons.

That’s how I take creatine.

Doesn’t it taste terrible !!

Just tastes like nothing really. It’s gritty, but washes down. After 15 years of using it, it doesn’t phase me, haha.

Mono is flavourless.

I just ordered some this morning, I can decide if I’m a none responder or just super unaware of my own body. At very least given my static weight gain at present we’ll find out of I can gain some extra water weight!

Yer it’s even gritty when you put it in your shake. I’m like @alex_uk and still can’t decide if it does anything for me other than make my stomach churn !!

I’ve taken it on and off for years (probably decade by now) significantly more off than on. This will be my last try (I just needed something cheap to bump up to free postage price).

That’s the thing it is so comparatively cheap, why wouldn’t you add it.
