Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

The logical inference being that most people are willing to lie about the past if the benefits meet certain criteria.

Yup. And that’s alright too, but then it just becomes one more permanent thing. Now you permanently become someone who will lie about their past.

And sometimes these jobs require the swearing of an oath, so now we take the job under false pretense and, in turn, swear a false oath, and we permanently become THAT person.

I’d rather have a barbed wire tattoo myself, haha.

I guess I’ll stay away from all three then :joy::rofl:

Me neither, but damn did I try.

I don’t necessarily advocate their use, as there is risk, and for some absolutely not worth it.

Morality aside: drugs are illegal. If you get caught there are ramifications.

You’re almost asking; should I drink drive.

Purely for your info:
That said I have indulged in more than 1 type of illegal substance. The impacts on you’re health (long and short term) are profound. Mental and physical.
And once you cross that bridge it’s a no going back sort if thing. It becomes increasingly easy to justify behaviour youd never dream of before hand.

I think you know that’s a ridiculous comparison, especially since the discussion is about smoking a bit of weed in college and not smuggling a kilo of cocaine for a cartel.

I reject this. Asking about trying weed is absolutely nothing like asking if you should operate a several-thousand pound projectile while drunk.

And if we’re talking from a philosophical standpoint, if anyone has ever tried alcohol, they’ve done drugs. The law doesn’t see it that way (for now), and so the illegality of it should be the driving force to stay away, but if you’ve ever had a drink, you’ve done a heavier, more dangerous drug than marijuana.

Have you seen the price of textbooks? A side job is a must!

I am able to agree with this philosophically as well, haha. It is honestly one of the few things stopping me from trying alcohol these days: I am not ready to no longer be a person who has not drank.

From a UK POV weed is illegal. So I’m going from there. If you’re buying legally there is a difference. Of course.

However my analogy stands.

Buying from the black market funds and fuels the black market. Buying weed creates criminals. Creates organised crime.
In not saying no drugs = no crime. But if everyone that bought drugs stopped, there would be less guys getting shot up in turf wars.
If you buy illegal drugs chances are somewhere up the supply chain someone has been killed/mained/beaten to a pulp etc to get it to you. If you never thought of that before sorry. But now you know time to deal with it.

But (morality alert) buying illegal drugs is no more morally ambiguous than buying an electric device. Research the metal coltan.

Again, I reject this. She was not ā€œalmost askingā€ if she should drive drunk. I could literally make the same type of analogy that you did and say ā€œyou’re almost asking, should I violently rape a school full of disabled childrenā€, because somebody died to get you the weed that you’re smoking. Sorry dude, but IMO, your analogy does not stand.

To clarify, there is a stark contrast between consuming a product that may have indirectly caused someone harm, and deliberately putting other people’s lives in danger with an incredibly dangerous act. To suggest otherwise is unfair.

I’ve never bought drugs though I did plenty.

I always thought using cannabis with the opposite sex was a lot of fun.

While tattooing each other?

Sure but to your first point, the only ramifications of being caught smoking it are that you’re out the Ā£20 you paid for the eighth because the officer confiscates it.

Last time I applied for a clearance it asked if you had ever watched porn. I answered yes and the guy organising it flipped his lid (not sure why he was reading my pack to be honest). Apparently, back then, someone may have blackmailed you for looking at a vag. Nowadays, the prez bangs a porn star and nobody bats an eyelid lol

I may have done this. I was also about 135 lbs though, so that may have had something to do with it;

I probably just don’t process mj well- some high schoolers I know use 200 mg edibles just fine

Just the temporary, apply with a wet sponge kind.

Who knows, that might actually be a messed up fetish somewhere… the weed theoretically would help with the pain :joy::joy:

To give a definitive answer to your question,
I would not crowdsource decisions like this:

Make your own decisions, take or don’t take your own risks, but whatever you do, take time during your college experience to enjoy yourself. This could mean doing all or none of the things you mentioned - you seem fairly calculated in your approach to things, decide for yourself what you feel is worth it.

Except for one thing:

Do not get a ā€˜made in china’ tattoo on the base of your neck, unless your objective is to create a hybrid between a tramp stamp and a brand on a sex slave.
