Sorry, this is absolute bollocks. You know the “sprint gene” is found in 98% of Jamaicans, but also in 80% of Europeans. That does not account for the massive discrepancy in performance.
The difference is that in countries like Jamaica more children are encouraged to sprint and are talent spotted from a young age. Here in the UK, there are few athletics stadiums (it’s mostly dedicated football stadiums, sadly) and the sport is not really promoted in schools. That’s why we produce few world class athletes.
