First T Cycle, Bulk or Cut?

Hello guys,

im starting my first cycle in a week (only testosterone) and i have a question regarding my nutrition. I have about 17-20% bodyfat right now, and i train for quite some time. My goal is to get in a good shape in summer (12-14% bodyfat is enough for me)

So, should i eat in a slight deficite and use the test to build muscle and burn fat at the same time or should i be in a slight surplus to really take advantage of the increased protein synthesis and fuel it as good as possible.
I personally think i should do a slight deficite but from local dudes i ask they say i need to take advantage and dont waste the cycle and gain as much muscle as i can, and then diet down. What will get me better results till summer comes around? I really want to make the best out of my first cycle and not “waste” it.
So im really clueless right now since i dont have experience here.

15% < body fat … for aromatase ( in your fat) and for metabolism…
before using steroids you should be hungry and thin (even catabolic light), to take advantage of hormonal supercompensation by increasing calories and testosterone

Diet first. Work on your diet. Once you’re at you’re at your desired body fat percentage, then run a cycle. If you can’t drop some fat naturally, then you really have no business with AAS. Once you come off, you’ll just go back to the old body based on your diet and workout routine.

Alright. I always thought because if someone mentions how u can burn fat and build muscle at the same time there always were these 3 cases: newbie gains, after a long break (muscle memory) or steroids. Thats why i thought since i got some unwanted fat it would be perfect since i wanted to start my cycle anyway.
Btw: i misstyped; its 17-20% bodyfat, not 27-20%. I already corrected it.

You will do both on cycle, but why waste a cycle eating in a deficit and not putting on as much muscle as possible. Losing fat is far easier than putting on significant muscle, lose the fat naturally, and focus on muscle building (doesn’t have to be a”bulking”) while on cycle. You’ll lose more fat most likely on cycle as well. Plus, the less body fat, the less risk of estrogen related crap.

I’d personally say get to 14/15% then go for it. Just personal opinion.

Yeah that makes sense! My gymbros were telling me to go full bulk in a week, and then do this cut. But you make far more sense. Alright, i need to be patient and cut for now. Ill aim for 15%. Thank you.

it’s tough enough to maintain gains after your cycle. The last thing you’ll want to do is cut right after and end up losing your newly built muscle. Lose what you can naturally and use the AAS to do what they do best.

I have one question left just cuz out of couriosity.
I often heared guys talking about their first cycle of only test, and them regretting it because they got a bloated face, high blood preassure, headache and stuff. I mean one of them used 1000mg test a week, but are these side effects only due to the high dose or is there anything i have to look out for?

Bloat and blood pressure can be a result of several things … first of all, 1,000mg of Test per week is absurd. Unless you’re competing, there’s never a need to go to those extremes. 300-500 will be plenty to run a handful or more or cycles. There’s other ways to run cycles without high levels or test as well; plenty of other compounds.

You can still experience bloat on 300-500 though. Diet, water intake, estrogen, overall health, all play a major roll in how you’ll handle test and what type of side effects you may encounter.

Okay. I drink very much water everyday without noticing. About 3 liters , sometimes more. How does water intake change for me while on 400mg test? Should i drink less?

No, continue to drink 128-200oz of water. Dehydration can cause your body to retain water and bloat up. Drinking water is good. Diet should be clean. Minimal alcohol if any.
