So im looking to do my first 8 week testosterone cycle and have two questions i couldnt get a clear answer with during my research.
Q1: What is a good dose to start out with? (Body composition is below.)
Q2: Is there anything else I need to add to my regiment to avoid any potential side effects?
My main worry is dosing to much that it converts to estrogen and the potential side effects that comes with. I want to maintain my twice a day sex drive as well.
Thanks in advance.
Body composition:
Age: 34
Height: 6’2"
Weight: 262lbs
Body Fat: 20.2%
Personally I would get this closer to 12%. Starting a cycle at 20% is not something I would recommend. You will convert test to estrogen at a higher rate and by the time you are done your prob gonna be close to 24-25% which means your gonna have to diet and chances are your not gonna hold much of what you gained.
Okay. Thats something thats been in the back of my head how its gonna effect my body comp. Would a small dose like TRT range (100-140mg/wk) for a few months give me a slight boost in dropping some weight and slimming down coupled with a clean diet and good trainning regiment?
This is all you need.
Have you had a hormone panel?
If your test is at a decent level I would just diet a bit and use that time to develop a great diet/training/cardio regimen so that when your ready you’ll be locked in.
Well that depends on your GOALS, your health (if you care) and your training/diet/lifestyle.
Yep, that depends on the side effects you want to mitigate. Those could include: high BP, high CBC, skewed lipids, CNS over-stimulation and poor sleep, high estradiol/prolactin, thyroid issues.
If you want to maintain your current libido I’d think twice before jumping on AAS. The results are very individual.
I did get a panel done which came back with a testosterone level of 350 and I would like to be between 700-900. Ither than that i meal prep each week, keep all my carbs/fat/protien sources clean with an occasional meal that might be dirty, I workout 5 days a week but still feel like i need to dial the training in just a little more by adding more cardio. Ive just hit a plateau and cant get past it. Do you think bringing my levels up to normal range will help push past that?
If your 20% bf there is still work to do. Would going in trt help? Maybe. Your test levels aren’t horrible and they will most likely improve as you drop fat. Why not start a training and diet log.
You could also try a glp drug. 1mg/wk retatrutide is pretty crazy for appetite control. That’s where I’d be looking until bf is lower. Save the test for when you will benefit the most
Change your thought process on this. You might feel better at 600 than 900. It’s never wise to chase numbers. Best practice is to start low and make small changes if needed after a couple months.
So i dont over eat or overindulge food and I stick to my calorie deficit. I gained some weight from a medicine they put me on thinking i had a condition i didnt which caused me to gain 30lbs in two months. I got rid of close to 20lb already and want another 25 off to be where i want to be. Just been stuck in this plateau for what seems to be an eternity. I think all i can really do is just decrease my calories even more and up my cardio or switch up how im getting my cardio.
Okay. I pay pretty close attention to my body and make a lot of mental notes but i think im gonna try logging everything like you were saying. Might help me dial in better. So would 100mg be a good starting point? After 4-5 weeks adjusting, see how im feeling and blood work than decide if what to do with the dosag?
100mg/wk is fine to start but you need to wait at least 12 weeks before making any adjustments. It takes 5 or so weeks for the hormone to fully saturate the blood and then it takes time for your body to adjust.
I’ll reiterate though, it would prob be in your best interest to drop weight prior to doing anything.
Get a log going and tag me. Let’s see what we can adjust to get you dropping fat.
