@Swolle: I certainly understand your thinking. It’s my opinion though that in any pose, you should always attempt to appear to be taking up more space than the competitors standing beside you. In the case of the RDB, while most people believe it’s an ‘arm’ pose, I maintain that it’s a ‘frame pose’, and that the more of an X-Frame you convey, specifically with your lats and quads, the more imposing you will appear to the judges. I have seen, and experienced with my own posing practice, that by raising the upper arms too high, you can actually lose some width in your lats from front and rear bicep shots. If you angle your hands, and forearms correctly, I don’t think the extra height on the upper arms is necessary, and think it can actually hurt one’s overall presentation in this particular pose. For E-bomb specifically, he needs to balance out his quad sweeps, and I’m just a bit hesitant to suggest anything that might take away from his perceived torso width.
I still disagree… I have out of proportion leg as well. Problem is I really see his arms as his weakest point. No offense. His back is decent and his back lat spread will make up any minor back loss from having the elbows slightly higher. He has a great V and his shoulders are plenty wide for his legs… I also realize this isnt an exclusive bicep pose … We will have to agree to disagree… Remember too judges aren’t judging pictures but moving bodies. He wont lose back score due to bdb.
Hey Guys. To all that have commented and critiqued in the past week or so, thank you, I appreciate it a ton!
I have been super busy lately with school, applications, and of course, PREP!
This past Thursday we started Peak week and are now in the thick of it. I am beginning to see veins in places that I hadn’t before and reaching levels of leanness that are definitely going to help me a ton on stage.
I will post some recent pics in my posing trunks and may post more as the week progresses, let me know what you all think.
Just amazing work big man. Seriously, this has come together in every way possible. I never want to make predictions, because there’s the old adage “you can’t control who else will show up”, but if I were a betting man, I’d definitely put my money on you.
People much better at this bodybuilding lark than me have given their opinion on how awesome you’ve done, so i’m just going to quote myself when I saw these latest pics…
I don’y post much but i just had to tell you that you are an insporation. I’ll be starting my own prep in december, and your prep has given me even more motivation. Great work.
