First Blast for 45yr old

45yr old, been on trt 3+years, current dose 120/wk, lvl between 800 and 1100. 6’1, 230 Train 4* a week. Currently on BP meds for mild hypertension. Looking to add some lean mass on my first blast, specifically delts and chest. I’ve got enough to do 300/wk for 10 wks test cyponate. Concerned about BP and E2 as I do not currently have a script for an AI. I can increase dose of BP meds if it becomes a issue as I’m on lowest dose. Started trt online then transfered to local doc who is not friendly to any modifications so can’t just ask for AI. I need a new doc but local options are limited. Can I get AI without a script or is it fully controlled?

I know it’s always said to do 500e for first cycle but want to be safe with my other health concerns. Worth doing? Titrate up over 4 weeks just to see?

IMO not really. 300mg a week is going to make a difference for someone with normal test levels off TRT. You’re already higher end so just pumping up Test mildly is going to yield some minor temporary results at best.

Absolutely not. You need to run full dose to reach blood saturation as quickly as possible to reap benefits.

Fully controlled unless you buy it UGL or black market. You can go to a couple telemedicine clinics that offer it. My clinic is Defy Medical and they are great. Good Docs with plenty of knowledge that also offer lots of “extras”.

First question is how often do you get bloods from Doc? If 12 weeks then this is not gonna happen. You’ll need at least 6-8 weeks to get everything back to normal or they will know.
As far as the AI goes, you will need to order from a UGL. Some peptide sites may carry it. You’ll have to look around.

I would suggest that you are overweight (per BMI) and possibly not lean enough to get the full benefit of a cycle.

When I first blasted, everyone said I.was too overweight…I did 500/week. No AI. At first, it appeared I was getting puffy tissue around the nipples, but I powered through and it seems body was just getting used to the dosage. My second blast was 600 deca/500 test. No AI again. Didnt care for deca. The leaness I had gotten from first blast went away a bit.

Third blast was 750 test. No AI. Got strong and lean. A lot of people on here repeat same old tired statements, but testosterone and lifting heavy weight will lean you out even not dieting. If you mix a bit of control such as shooting for 2x bodyweight in g of protein (this will lower carbs out of necessity), and take frequent ten minute walks, you will work out the hematocrit naturally without blood letting and will drop the bp.

Because they ring true more often than naught. You are an example of N=1.

I agree. I just believe that it turns off new guys who are coming here for support, not lectures. I would like to grow this community, especially for lifters.

Thanks, I was with defy. I liked doc but seemed like she did not keep good pt notes. Kept restating the same things to her each time we met. Cost of test via doc is very cheap as goes thru regular insurance. I did not know he was going to be a pain in the butt about everything. Had to argue with his nurse about the needle gauge I wanted to use.

Thanks, yeah I do bloods every 3 months so did not think of that. I could easily “reschedule” out a few weeks to get realigned. They are a bit haphazard.

You could push out and then if your bloods come back high you could always say you injected day before bloods and play dumb. They would prob let it slide once.
Remember it takes about five half lives for testE to eliminate.
As others have said though. If your gonna do it then take 500mg/wk.

I expected at least one person to say this. It’s ok, at least he was polite about it. When I first went on trt I lost a good bit of weight and as I did watched my long term E2 trend down with it. Carrying extra body fat definitely increases your conversion. Vicious cycle for heavy dudes with low t. I’m one of those that actually had low t most of my life, doc had been tracking it since I was in my 30s, waited till symptoms tipped the scales to get meds at a regular measurement under 300. I believe folks assume goals from their own perspective and what they want. I want to boost lean mass to help further assist with the fat reduction and to improve my appearance for me, and improve my lifts, for recreation. I’m 45, happily married for 23 years, and work a desk job. Not aspiring for a body building show or a lifting competition, it’s just for me.

I understand your point - however, “suggesting” he might not get the full benefit of a blast doesn’t qualify as a “lecture” in my book. I felt it was a thoughtful share of information.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience, glad you have had success.

If you decide to go back use Dr Calkins. He costs more than the nurses but well worth it.

First half false second half true. Think what you want despite being wrong. Weight loss is a secondary function of having more energy and getting in the gym. Testosterone does not burn fat but does promote lean tissue and mood energy to get in the gym. Here’s the thing, he’s already on Test so none of that is going to change for him. The greater Test may add marginal lean mass but nothing significant enough to burn fat at rest that’s noticeable.

Further, nobody discouraged him but merely stated what facts and experience show. I think it’s a waste of time for somebody on TRT to bump to 300mg one short time period. Now B&C is a whole different scenario.
