searching for my ideal dosage. I my levels are 470 total and 11 free. doc put me on conservative doses because my symptoms are terrible but my levels aren’t bad, and I’m trying to find that sweet spot where i’m feeling consistent, not over medicated, and not injecting every day. What worked for you?
50ml on sunday night lasts me until about tuesday noon before I crash. 100ml sunday night gets me until about thursday (and feeling better the entire time). This week tried 75, i’d like to find a dose that makes me feel good and I inject every third day. don’t know why i want every third day but seems less of a commitment to me than EOD.
Everyone is different, you need to find what works for you. I take 200mg once a week and feel good all week. As you have seen, some inject every day. Sounds as though you might be fine with twice a week.
You will get a lot of different answers from different people, I find that SHBG is a good marker for determining an ideal injection frequency. When I first started TRT I only wanted to inject once a week, but each time I move the injections closer together and decrease the dose, I felt better.
The majority of newcomers to TRT don’t want to inject multiple times a week, sticking themselves with a needle is a new experience all in itself. I inject every single day and is the opposite of over-medicating because now I’m only injecting 10mg a day (70mg weekly), less testosterone to achieve the same levels, more stable levels at that.
How long have you been on trt and tinkering with these dosages? What is the longest stretch you have run one particular dosage? I’m talking about consistent dosing. 470 TT is a garbage number. You have to stick needles in yourself and your getting trash numbers? No way. Shoot for upper range if you can.
i’ve been on for a little over 2 months, but the doc put me on 100ml once every three weeks, which I’ve been following so I kind of consider myself having not started yet because this protocol is ineffective. I read one guy saying his doc made him come off trt for 3 weeks before getting a baseline blood test. Ive been tinkering w my dosages every third week, keeping it within the 100ml dose, wanting not to self medicate even though in disagreement with the protocol. Then spending the remaining days 2 - 2 1/4 weeks going through rebound lethargy then baseline. I got the green light to increase to 200ml once every 2 weeks, but told doc that’s probably not going to do it because after 50ml on sunday night as stated i’m dead by tuesday noon. she said maybe gel would be better. my hunch is this is nonsense as I think I read and she said injections give a more consistent effect, but she may just be offering the only alternatives she’s allowed to… I’ll most likely need to go to a clinic and pay full price. and 470 is my baseline without treatment. this ‘normal’ level makes it more difficult psychologically to commit to lifelong treatment and more difficult to get insurance to pay.
I’m just gonna go ahead and assume that you mean 200 MG every 2 weeks and not 200 ml. 200 mg every 2 weeks is not a bad place to start. Just inject Monday morning and Thursday afternoon. Example: 50 mg Monday @ 7am and 50 mg Thursday @ 7pm. This is a typical 3.5 day split. Once you do this do yourself and favor and stop “tinkering” with the dose. It takes time to stabilize and will get better as you go. This is due to the 7 day half life of cypionate. It takes 6 weeks to stabilize at a give dose. I know when I started the first three weeks were pretty rocky as far as fatigue but I stuck with it and after three weeks all that went away. Your gonna be alright boss.
It is??? What? I thought 470 is low normal for most, if I saw someone with a level of 470 and low normal to mid normal free T i’d be reccomending lifestyle changes rather than TRT as such levels are likely fixable
I was under the impression those were his levels on trt. Even if it was his natural production I still say its garbage numbers and like you said he would certainly need lifestyle changes. Especially considering that at those levels he was symptomatic. Enough said. Garbage numbers and he felt bad enough he sought medical attention.
The man feels like shit at TT of 470. He needs to get his levels to a point where his symptoms disappear.
This is a terrible protocol. Like everyone is saying, you need to pin twice a week. Maybe more often like @systemlord said. You have to rely on how you FEEL, not numbers. Hopefully, with more frequent pinning at lower doses, you will reduce your E2 as well.
Ask me is 5 weeks as far as the everyday protocol, but 20mg EOD (80mg weekly) scored Total T 496 ng/dL, Free T 21 pg/mL (6.8 - 21.5). Your doctor is so far off base on dosing and injection frequency, it says I don’t know what I’m doing and don’t do TRT very often, I’m a new at this TRT game.
You will see guys scoring the same total testosterone and have completely different free testosterone scores, I started out focusing on total testosterone and everytime I went above 600 ng/dL the symptoms became unbearable, DHT sides were horrendous, losing hair and ache from hell.
You need to find a specialists who’s has experience in replacing hormones, the average doctor just doesn’t have enough knowledge. TRT has a very steep learning curve.
