ever see NINJA SCROLL? japanese anime…the lead character in that is bad ass…
Frank McCourt. His two memoirs Angela’s Ashes and Tis’ show what a real T-Man he is. He pulled himself up from his circumstances and helped his brothers and mother do the same. Also he and his brother Malachy, wrote about their lives with such honesty that you can’t help but learn something that will improve your life. Although he is not a typical fictional T-Man he gets my vote.
Sam from “Serious Sam” the game.
Good one! Thanks for reminding me of one of my sometimes forgotten childhood heroes. A T-man indeed.
Peekay from the “Power of One”
Sgt.Highway from Heartbreak Ridge.
Captain Miller: “Saving Private Ryan”
An experienced Warrior who did not think he was a “Badass”…
Compassionate yet tough and forceful when he needed to be…
A man of integrity, honor, dedication and bravery…
He in one of those fictional characters who comes along and makes one look at themselves…
I watched that again tonight also, and I admit I cried for the the third damn time. Great movie.
That is a great choice. I need to go rent that again. Even when he is a little kid he is such a man.
my vote…Leonidas, the spartan king who led his troops into battle against the Persians knowing that they probably would not come back. Held them off (actually kicked their ass) until they managed to bribe some poor schmuck into finding a way around their positions. (I know he was a real person) The charachter I am refering to comes from The Gates of Fire, a novel written few years back by Pressman. We don’t really know what Leonidas really like, so any portrayal of him is fictional…
How about Mr. Clark from the Tom Clancy novels.
Do you need to look any further than the original ‘Man of Steel.’ None other than our old pall Superman, cause those are what I call real muscles
Sorry but I’ve got to disagree with you, Superman is the least T-man of all time…It takes no courage whatsoever to be a hero when you are invincible, now I know that you probably can argue about all the super villans and he’s supposedly in real danger yada yada yada but compare him to Batman as was posted earlier, basically Clark couldnt be anything but a superhero, while old Brucie boy is everything a true T-man should aspire to be, just a guy with no super powers who through hard work and training does it better than the other “gifted” ones, he’s the man!
While Superman was indeed killed (remember, “Death of Superman”?) - I agree that Batman is a better T-Man. But so could be Animal Man. Or Spiderman. And ahem Wonder Woman. And I think Wonder Man (from Marvel and part of The Avengers), could be listed as another T-Man.
i cant believe no one has mentioned rocky. He repeatedly trained his ass off, even if most of it was stupid, and routinely beat guys with way more talent than him. And did it all while being considerate of others and putting his family first. I think the biggest example of him being a tman was in rocky V, dont knock me for mentioning rocky V, was when tommy gunn hit pauly, and rocky said “you knocked him down, why dont you try knocking me down, now!” or in rocky II when he gets knocked down by apollo and he comes back to his corner and tells mick that he aint going down no more. Or better yet when adrian didnt want him to fight and he said, “i dont ask you to stop being a woman, so please dont stop asking me to be a man”. or when he was chasing the chicken and he told mick he felt like a kentucky fried idiot. hahahaha.
Boba Fett is a bad ass. If you were a true follower of the star wars universe, you would know that Boba Fett didn’t die in the sarlacc, he killed it and escaped. How is that for tough.
Goldberg- I totally agree with you about Rocky, he was the toughest guy ever.
Danny
John Doggett from the X-Files.
no no no, never wonder man, he’s gay. Sorry, I just never liked the dude. For the same reason people don’t think Superman is a real T-Man. He was created super powerful and was a icky movie star. ew! lol But I do think people need to rethink if Supes is a T-man or not. Now I’m a big Batman fanatic, but think of ol’ Superman. Sure, he’s blessed with the ability to be near invunerable in our lovely yellow sun, but think about it. He still goes out of his way to make a difference. He could be using his powers to rule the Earth, or at least boosting his retirement plan. But instead he will risk his life for people that he doesn’t know and Kryptonite be damned! So while 98% of us will relate to Batman, think of Superman as the genetically gifted individual that actually knows his shit.
Rocky is a badass too. He beat up Mr. T, but worse was when he beat that Soviet who had a 1200 lb/sq inch, and he was all natural too. And then he practically ended the cold war showing the Soviets the error of their ways and converts them to capitalism, as Gorbachev cheers for him…Wow, I hate that movie…
Oh, and I agree w/ Tyler Durden being the baddest of the bad. Edward the LongShanks from Braveheart is a badass too. He has the coolest last name I’ve heard of…
