I don’t really know how to link it, but we were taught that the diagnosis of fibromyalgia is based on 18 points in the body. What are you medically?

Again Why were you in Corpus
Chiropractor. I was in Corpus looking at an office that I’ll be renting space in and my girlfriend was interviewing for a couple of jobs.

Did you ask me a different time why I was down there?
Yes another thread?

What does she do?

I may need to hire a LVN nurse case manager and a mid-level provider for Corpus soon.
Oh okay, I found it. Haha, I didn’t think it was nearly as bad as you made it sound. She’s going to be doing market research for a children’s hospital. Masters in statistics, no medical training. Do you deal with the oil workers down there? I think I might try to get a contract with them but don’t know who to approach about it.
That area is funny, you could get some business on Non-Occupational issues, but you go workers comp will be different story.

I have a couple contracts that have work down there and one maintenance sites.

So Driscoll job for the GF? Wife worked there for a few years, my mom also.

Did your wife and mom like it? Everyone that she interviewed with was extremely nice and helpful. Corpus is unlike anything I’ve ever seen as far as cities go, though. It’s weird how multi million dollar castles are right next to 100k houses.

I want to avoid workers comp and PI if possible. From what I saw Corpus has a large fitness community at the areas near the water.

They loved working there.

I lived there for 25 years, it is not a fitness town, but there is small community of guys and gals.

Next time I am down I will let you know, I go down every few months for work.

I can give you a low down on where you want to settle down and where to avoid

That’s great to hear. I did notice that everyone here is EXTREMELY nice. I’m in KS right now and am used to the majority having manners and being polite but it was a nice surprise. Right now the transition from KS to TX is happening within a couple months and I’m somewhere in between scared shitless and excited. I must infiltrate this small community.

From what I understand the further south the better. We’ve already run into 4 or 5 scams on housing so we’re probably going to do apartments for 6 months or a year.

Well I am medical.

Professional is up for debate

Symptoms:
Severe chronic fatigue
Regular brainfog that sometimes lasts days
“roaming” back pain upper lower and mid back
most of my joints feel sore all the time
Difficulting getting asleep/staying asleep
Feeling exhausted even when I sleep through the night
Vertigo whenever I’m near something with a difference in elevation or starting to fall asleep
difficult time with short term memory
quad, calf, biceps twitch
extremely sensitive to temperature/humidity
Fluttering heartbeat
Irritability
Anxiety
Depression.
I’ve lost all motivation to do things for “fun” in the last few months.

I called my mom a while back to ask if Fibro or anything else ran in my family. One of my aunts has it and a few other relatives have lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, stuff like that. From some of you medical professionals is there anything I should know before I go to the doctors office? I realize some of you feel like this is bullshit, but any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: mom also has moderate-severe depression.

First off keep it simple.

You should have a routine physical and extensive lab work to rule out usual suspects. I would include T levels etc. Find a Dr that is understanding and will take the time to talk to you, younger physicians have a higher percentage of this type of mentality.

I talked to my nurse friend recently. She said that people in the medical community say they don’t know what causes it, but they do; it’s emotional trauma. It’s probably no coincidence that there seems to be a correlation between depression or other emotional issues and fibromyalgia.

I appreciate it. I’ve been to doctors for chronic fatigue before and they have always tossed me out. I have had no desire to do anything but work, workout, and lay around. I cant bring myself to read, go out with people, play video games, or anything I used to do to amuse myself. I have an appointment for Friday, I will check back in after that.

If you have insurance then just keep going to a Dr that will listen. You are not wanting to get drugged up, you want a plan of action and make sure you do not have an underlying issue.

When I had patients come to me like this, I would do an extensive lab work, looking for underlying causes. Then I would move to fixing their sleep, then I would move to anti-depressants etc.

That’s how depression first manifests itself in me when it’s starting.

Went to the doctor today. This is the first doctor I’ve been to since I was a minor that I liked. This is what he wants to do:

Wellbutrin 150mg 2xday

And my bloodwork results for:
CBC & AUTO DIFFERENTIAL
LIPID PANEL WITHOUT REFLEX
THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE REFLEX
TESTOSTERONE-TOTAL
COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL

Less weight gain, helps with smoking cessation, some problems with sleep in some people.

With these meds, some work great on some and not others. Unfortunately is kind of trial and error.
