Some of the Ultimate series I like (like Iron Man, The Avengers, and some X-Men). I hate what they did with Ultimate Fantastic Four (except for the union with Supreme Power which might make me like them). They started the FF back as teenagers with Reed being 18-19 years old. The Invisible Girl comes across as more of the leader which is fine, but their ages suck considering how it changes the story.
I can understand getting teens back into it, but I don’t get why so many of these characters have to suddenly become teens themselves.

I agree the ages change sucks. The whole Reed Richard’s thing is he’s an older wiser character. I’d say they should just fix the shitty characters.
The only Marvel comic I’m collecting of late is the Eternals mini-series.

Silver Surfer is one of my all time favorite superheroes. Even if this movie is twice as good as the last one, however, it will still suck.
I can’t think of a superhero movie that didn’t suck - except for the original Batman.

Then I really do question your taste, but I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes. Batman Begins was the way the story should have been approached to begin with. The only reason the original Batman movie is considered great is because it was the first. It will have its place but it is by no means the “best” superhero movie ever made.
Many would argue that might be the first Superman movie. I personally think the first two X-men movies were done well. The first Spiderman was decent also in terms of bringing a comic book to life. Honestly, could you imagine a movie like that coming out in 1985? People would have shit their pants.
I think many expect more and more based on the technology for effects today in spite of the fact that some of the movies are still pretty damn good.
While not a “superhero”, I think the Chronicles of Riddick was a good attempt also.
I don’t care how bad it is, I’ll watch just about any superhero movie. I thought the first two X-men and the first Spiderman were damn good, but the third X-men and second Spiderman not as much. I liked most of the Batman (I even enjoyed the goofy one with Arnold) movies, Batman Begins was my favorite of all of them. I didn’t like the Hulk at all, but I thought Daredevil was somewhat entertaining, if not a very good movie.
I think this one looks pretty good. I never really got that into the Fantasic Four as much as the X-men, but it still seems pretty cool. I’m looking forward to it.

Shameless Plug time, go check out the Director’s cut of Daredevil different film, much better.

W/o spoilers, can you tell us what was changed, added, deleted, etc.?
He let a woman die in one scene when he returned back to his apartment. He heard her begging for help and ignored her as he dropped into his “submersion tank”. There was an earlier scene with King Pin where he kills one of his own guards which sets up how ruthless he is. They cut out an entire subplot and court case with Coolio in it, but frankly, considering Coolio’s acting skills, I can see why. The scenes did help the story, but Coolio just wasn’t funny (especially in the courtroom scene) and I think that was what his role was supposed to be. The rest of the outtakes were minor but yes, they did make a slight difference in the movie.
If it didn’t still have a bad case of The Affleck, it might have been pretty good with the deleted scenes added back in. He was truly what fucked it up to me even though the director’s cut was better.
