Must take a lot of bukake sessions to get their hair like that.

Post after post of people rejecting the “gender as a social construct” idea and then slamming metros in the next sentence. Well, where do you think metros come from? It’s more than soy products and declining T levels.
Guys are hard-wired to be guys. That’s why we have the Man Law commercials, recliners, ESPN, titty bars, and remote controls - not necessarily in that order.
Sure there are factors in the environment that tell us what types of shoes, pants, and shirts are socially acceptable. But that is a far cry from saying that all of our traits are a result of social constructs is just bullshit.
There’s no real hope. This morning the middle aged business man in line ahead of me at the coffee shop had a hissy fit because they were out of soy milk.

I have got to ask as I am clearly misunderstanding what is going on here. Are these guys seriously gay or metro or something else?
Well assuming that most of the pictures are of them wearing tight shirts posing with other guys wearing tighter shirts…
They’re probably gay. Or bisexual, in which case they are in the closet about being gay by having sex with other men.
I thought the pictures were a joke in the sense that some guys got together and thought that it would be funny on some level…but from reading posts these things seem to actually exist out in the real world?
Haha?
Sound like a joke to you? Nah. I think they’re real.
Lemme guess. You got psychoanalized?
At the psycoatrist office?
How would that be a hate crime? You don’tbeat the crap out of them because you hate them… you just hate what they are and you want to HELP… right?
I just want to take some brass nuckles and beat that face until it ain’t pretty anymore.
A man should NOT wear lipstick and eye shadow. I don’t care what those gay activists say. It’s WRONG.
Even if they’re gay. That doesn’t excuse it. They are supposed to look like men, not some fruity androgynous half male half female… thing.

My sister has been looking for her favorite tank top, I think I know what happened to it.
The guy does look like he’s holding his breath. But I have another theory. His wig fell off and he’s very suprised.

Stop acting like you weight train for a reason other than to get noticed by women, which is exactly what ‘metrosexuals’ do, but with style and fashion.
Is this your own personal crusade?
How many times do you have to be told that nearly ALL serious weightlifters lift for reasons other than women.
I personally lift because I think it’s fun. I love doing it. I love picking up heavy shit, and couldn’t care less whether the cardio bunnies think it’s hot or whether they’re repulsed by my lack of a six-pack.
Seriously, do you think you know my motivations better than I do? Are you really THAT closed-minded?
You telling me that you don’t look in the mirror before/during/while you workout to see how your muscles look?
If not, then you are an definitely not the norm. You must either be:
A) gay - motivation would be impressing men, not women
B) making a living off weight training - money would be the motivation
or
C)(the most likely, in your case) a masochist
Am I right, t-Gun?
Funny how this site has bodybuilder pictures of men wearing banana hammocks everywhere, yet post a picture of a guy wearing a tight shirt and hairgel and a legit amount of muscle, “OH NO, HE HAS THE GAY!”.
Closet homos and haters, the lot of you. Get with the times already.
Make it stop. PLEASE LORD MAKE IT STOP!!!
oboffill your so right, every bodybuilder/powerlifter/strongmen/oly lifter/MMA fighter must be metro or gay. If only I knew this I would have stayed at my 130lbs and been happy. WOW you changed my life. We cant lift weights because we want to better ourselves nope its either for money or women. God how could I have been so stupid, You sir are god.(Sarcasm to its extreme).

Those clowns do not have a legitimit amount of mnuscle. The one guy lost his wig and is holding his breath. There is no seperation in is arms. In fact, the guy in my wife’s tank top looks like he has my ex-girlfriends arms.

What do you mean by “Get with the times”?

I draw the line at lip gloss.
Who pulled out the pics of the “Hotti” guys? Gods, I saw these guys when I surfed a blog called something like Hot Chicks with Douches or something like that. I don’t give a shit about the whole metro thing, they look like that purely because they’re attention whores. And I’m willing to bet their encouraged by drunk college girls to behave that way. I hate clubs.
To whoever said men should never do ballet: Fuck that shit. Dance is a form of expression, and there is no reason why a man shouldn’t learn to dance well.
As an aside, most all the girls I know that are dance majors or have done ballet in the past are some of the most smoking hot girls I have ever known.
Finally, that picture of the “flexing” tank top and his friend: What the HELL is going on with that bicep? The triceps is small, flat, and looks like it belongs to that douche. The bicep doesn’t look flexed, it just looks wrong. As weird as the little big man looks, I can’t get over how bizarre that bicep looks in that picture.

There’s just no comparison between male dancers and these “hotti” guys or whatever the hell you call them. Dancing takes talent, skill, some strength to do the jumps and lifts, and a certain amount of brain power to remember all the moves. No, I have never danced, but I have seen a few ballet performances and admired the skill of the dancers, both male and female. That’s right guys - as a completely heterosexual male who was once told my someone that I could never be mistaken for being gay or effiminate (don’t know whether I smelled bad that day or what), I have gone to see the ballet, willingly, because I wanted too, not because my wife forced me to go. I’ve also gone to the symphony, and opera.
“Mah boys,” on the other hand, are just a bunch of morons who lack the necessary brain cells to come up with an original thought, so they just follow the latest fad which, I guess these days, involves copious amounts of hair gel and tank tops.
Yeah, I also didn’t agree with the dancer comment. If you look around you will find some very powerful looking athletes that are dancers. Check out Cirque du Soleil.

Before, during, or after workouts, no I don’t. Seriously.
I do check the mirror semi-regularly just to ensure that I am still on the right track, but I don’t view it any differently than occasionally testing my max weights or stepping on a scale. It’s a metric, not an ego-stroke.
This is where you veer off course. I would guess that I AM in the norm in this regard when compared with serious weightlifters.
Why would I stare in the mirror at the gym? I know what I look like. I want to get in, get out, and get on with my life. Staring in the mirror holds up that process.

LOL, I’ve got to admit I didn’t see “masochist” coming right here! But I don’t consider myself a masochist, seeing as that I don’t really enjoy pain. Also, you really shouldn’t be experiencing “pain” from lifting. It’s hard yes, but if lifting felt like sticking needles under my fingernails, you’re damn right I wouldn’t lift.
Again, I lift because it’s fun. I lift for the sake of lifting. Some men fish, some men work on cars, some men study history, some men watch movies, some men hunt, some men bike. I lift.
This is such an easy concept to grasp, I wonder why you continuously postulate that serious lifters lift to combat insecurities. Are you projecting, perhaps?
If a man takes fishing seriously, and buys some real good equipment, gets up at the crack of dawn, wades in a river and starts flyfishing, is it because he subconsciously feels that he is no longer needed to physically catch food to feed his family and overcompensates for this by being serious about his fishing? Perhaps.
Is it more likely that he simply enjoys fishing? Most definitely.

Good post. I lift weights because I alone enjoy the effects. There are bonuses to looking the way I do and negatives, just like with anything else in life. There are enough bonuses for me to continue doing it and my main motivation is not trying to impress women even though attention is appreciated. I seriously doubt anyone who ONLY lifts to impress the opposite sex will even stick with this long term. Wouldn’t that same person quit the moment they actually get a girl?
I look in the mirror when I lift to see my progress. It has little to do with primping and everything to do with measuring how far I’ve come and where I need to go from here. It is pretty sad that some people ON THIS SITE would see someone with that type of motivation and come up with several negative reasons for why they are who they are. It also speaks loudly that “oboffill” may be everything he is trying to label others as being.
So why would someone like that even be on this site?
Vulcan,
You have taken quite a beating on this one, but I give you credit for handling it well. I have to say though, many of your arguments are fallacious. I have no background in Gender Theory, so I cannot make a rational argument against many of the statements made. But I do have a some study of logic under my belt.
Many of your arguments do not follow logic as recognized in the scientific community. Upon reading your post, my first reaction is to call it propaganda. And after reading the follow ups, I definitely call it propaganda. What you are doing (whether you fully realize it or not) is trying to create arguments that justify or rationalize a particular viewpoint.
In this case, a liberal viewpoint that is very common in the world of the University. College is dominated by liberal propaganda. University faculty tends to be very incestuous when it comes to this agenda.
Back to the point. The specific flaw in your logic that I see is called “Petitio Principii”, which means begging the question. Basically, it means it is a “circular argument”.
Here’s an example from logician Richard Whately:
“To allow every man unbounded freedom of speech must always be, on the whole, advantageous to the state; for it is highly conducive to the interests of the community that each individual should enjoy a liberty, perfectly unlimited, of expressing his sentiments”
That is a fallacious argument. It may take several readings to realize it. Since it is such a complex error in logic, often times the asserter does not even know he is making this mistake. You are using circular logic to try and prove an agenda.
BTW, the posters who attack your character as a retort to your statements are committing “Ad Hominem”. The most common of all fallacies.
College is a great time and place to open your mind to new ideas, but you must always see through the bullshit and get to the core of the issue.
Ballet is tough as hell. I have a lot of respect for the men and women that do it. Gay or straight, they are athletes.
“Mah boys” are too stupid to be gay. They are just douchebags.

Only you, drunken workout boy, would think either of those guys has a legit amount of muscle.
