Tina Fey.
I vote Kaitlin Olsen on Its Always Funny in Philly.
Sarah Silverman and Lisa Lampenelli have always amazed me at their popularity, I’ve watched both of their routines and did not find either even remotely funny.
I was just about to say that I’ve never really enjoyed female comedians but then I saw ED’s post and I do remember watching Ellen Degenerous’ stand up and laughing. I don’t remember thinking she could hold a candle to some of the male comedians (chris rock, dane cook, Dave Chapelle, Russel Peters, Ect) but funny enough to watch from beginning to end and not want to swallow a gun.
I once saw a funny female stand-up act. I don’t remember who it was just because it just wasn’t that great. And Wanda Sykes pisses me off so much.

x2 I can’t stand female comedians because their jokes are always about their periods, relationship problems or other bs.
I find silverman funny.
Kristen Wiig from SNL is the funniest chick I’ve seen in a long time

I always liked Sarah Silverman. Wanda Sykes… eh… don’t like unattractive, unfunny lesbians.
Sarah Silverman isn’t funny to me at all. I am still trying to figure out how she got her own show…and how it is still on the air. Her whole act seems to be to simply act as silly as possible…which is only funny if your name is Jim Carrey.
I concur, she hasn’t even gotten so much as a smile from me.
I cannot think of even one funny female comedian.

In Britain, I’d say Victoria Wood. She can be pretty funny. French and Saunders too.

I haven’t heard of Victoria Wood, and have seen F&S.
People tell me Jo Brand is funny, but I disagree.
I hate Jo Brand too. Women like her, but it’s only because she slags off men so much.
Surprised you haven’t heard of Victoria Wood, although I guess she was more popular in the 80’s and 90’s

i despise jo brand, also i have never seen a funny female comedian, yet!
Edit: Shappi Khorsandi is the closest thing to a funny female comedian IMO, and shes hot!
Well the BIG difference is Comedians VS stand up Comics. The only 2 female stand up comics that have made me laugh at more than one joke are Wanda Sykes and Kathy Griffin.
Not sure why but I have found no women who could hang with Richard Pryor, George Carlin or Chris Rock (who has had Wanda Sykes write for him) doing stand up not sure why.
But Comedians (comedy Actress)are different like almost anyone from SNL or Mad TV, Hell I Love Lucy has had me a laughing out loud. Just can’t do it on stage with a mike.
Wanda Sykes
Whoever said Dane Cook was funny is dead wrong. Stupid frat-boy ramblings announced at high volume do not equate to funny… unless you’re a stupid frat boy.

Agreed, but big angry black woman ramblings aren’t funny either, you crazy hippie!
Wanda Sykes and Ellen, before they came out. Now it’s all about being a lesbian. We get it, move along.
Lampenelli is a pig. She is absurd for the shock value.
x2 or 3 on Kaitlin Olsen and Tina Fey
