Fedor is actually not a cyborg! He will undergo hand surgery and will have to rest it for 6 months :-(
PrideFC just announced it as ‘hand surgery’ since they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag.
In reality, he’s not going to the hospital for surgery, he’s going back to the factory for an upgrade. Fedor v2.0 will be released as soon as they run some diagnostics and he will resume his pummeling of puny humans.
i’m not knowledgable about pride at this time. but it seems like they allow just about anything? while ufc has a lot of rules. alot of rules that make sense. but in a normal fight anything goes. however ufc having all these rules do you perhaps think it would make them a better fighter against these pride guys? being as they have less ways to get the knockout or submission. they have to learn how to win with way less moves. any thoughts on this?
also why are people saying chuck liddell wouldn’t stand a chance fighting the top 3 guys from pride? this is in reference to the liddell/couture thread. who are these top 3? i know the top guy is fedor who looks like an absolute animal. but in those first few videos i seen the guy hit fedor right in the face and it didn’t stop him. you really think a hit like that from liddell isn’t going to knock him out?
Somebody will get lucky one day, and suddenly the world’s best fighter won’t be so magical.
Liddell? Wake up.
Liddell’s got pretty good hands, but Mirko’s LHK is a totally different kind of power. Fedor’s eaten his share and still reigns.
You want power and great hands, check out Griffin-Bonnar. I’d like to see those guys test their skills against the likes of Jackson, Nog, Shogun, Silva…

I was going to edit your quote down to nonsense, but there wasn’t anything to remove. The world’s best fighters go to where the money is. There are fighters on UFC pay-per-views getting $3k to fight and $3k to win. You have to love the sport to fight for that, and you have to know you’re not good enough for the big money orgs. Pride spends more making their belts shiny than the UFC spends on their fighters. Until that changes, there will be a disparity of talent between the orgs.
If you have any interest in fight sport, go watch youtube, google video, or buy a couple UFC and Pride DVD’s, maybe some K-1. On the first free sites, try to find the Quinton Jackson-Chuck Liddell fight.

I’d say Fedor, Nogueira and Mirko. Hard one between Filipovic and Silva.

The important thing to remember here is Fedor, Nog, and Mirko are not in Lidell’s weight class. If you’re looking for pride fighters in Lidell’s weightclass your talking about Silva, Arona, Rua, Jackson, Minowa, Sakuraba, Tamura, ect.
As stated above, Jackson did a number on Lidell in the 2003 middleweight GP, and Vitor Belfort didn’t do much in the 2004 Heavyweight GP.
Does the UFC have good fighters, sure. Do they have the same number of good or great fighters that Pride has, No.

Mauricio Rua and Silva would definitely be too hard for him.

What is the reasoning as to why Pride doesn’t allow elbows to the face? That seems to be the only restriction they have that the ufc allows … I think.
It is too easy to cut someone’s face by using an elbow to the face. It might not hurt the fighter (a glancing blow, for example), but it might cut them so bad the fight has to be stopped. The fans don’t get their money’s worth.

As if Fedor doesn’t beat people quick enough… Him, Mirko, and Aleksander would end fights under a minut if the current rules weren’t in place to make fights more entertaining.

Tru, but the one thing I TRULY hate about UFC is stops by cuttage. I hate the way UFC fighters plan on cutting another fighter to end the fight. Doctor’s stopages are understandable, but when winning by one is your game plan it just seems cheap.
