Yeah, I suppose we are fortunate that we were both likely too old to still be watching it when Elmo took over.
I remember one time though, I was flipping channels and stopped for a second when I realized Sesame Street was on. It was the episode where they finally revealed Snuffleupagus to the rest of the cast as being real, where they all thought he was imaginary up until that point. I almost cried.
