Favorite Training Accomplishments?

Military Pressing 135 was a huge deal for me because it always looked so intimidating. Same with Front Squatting 225.

Power Snatching 135 was also huge because it seemed terrifying at first to throw that over my head.

Recently, going from not being able hold a cup of coffee without aching elbow pain to curling a 25lbs DB with zero elbow pain was huge for me. Treating my recent injuries in general has felt great. To be honest, it’s felt better than any lifting accomplishment.

Getting the number 5 stone in a contest. It mattered more than winning the contest.

I think its kind of ironic that the stronger you get and the longer you’ve been lifting the less accomplished you tend to feel. I remember when I first started lifting as a scrawny little guy some of the weights i’ve hit in the major lifts since would have seemed nearly unfathomable, however when you’ve immersed yourself in the lifting game and start seeing all the internet freaks it makes all of my lifts over the years seems pretty unimpressive.

I think p4p my best lift is probaby my strict ohp however my favorite accomplishment was my best squat at 510lbs. No belt, no knee wraps, just alot of hard work.

I think that’s true for everything. When I first started writing, I felt so proud being done with a short story. Now, several short stories and a whole novel later, I feel crappy because I’m not Stephen King lol.

I understand this sentiment… Time and circumstances tend to change perspectives… I was setting up a new home office, and I’ve got tons of books, framed artwork on the walls, more Batman figures than a grown man should have… and then a small corner with a definitely overcrowded gathering of trophies.

I’m still very proud of every single one, still proud of all the framed instances where I was in magazines, or my image used in training articles, but it’s just one part of who I am, and I don’t need to be reminded in my own home, especially when I have plenty of friends who are equally as accomplished.

Hope that doesn’t sound weird,… again, I’m still very proud,… but now I"m focused on whats next on my horizon in terms of what else can I tackle.
