I always thought Lobo was the shit. There was this other guy I can’t remember his name, he dressed in a black and red suit and mask and he had these two nightsticks or a pole or something, and they were the most violent (and classy) comics I had when I was a kid. He was my favorite.
Also does Gwar, the almighty Scumdogs of the Universe, count?

I’m pretty sure you’re talking about Deadpool. Ren mentioned him a few pages back. Deadpool also had a funny streak, if I remember right. He didn’t start out that way, but later incarnations of him were written to be a real smart-ass.
While the movie was not so good, the comic rocks and I love the whole premise in general.

I didn’t think the movie was as bad as everyone else made it out to be. Was it on the same level as some of the better, more current comic movies? No. But I thought it was entertaining, nonetheless.
I’d be very curious to see what they could do with it now, with a good screenplay and the CGI technology available in the last few years.
Don’t hear about Green Lantern much but hes my pick.
I remember as a little kid finding this big ring along side the road. It had a big green glass stone. I wore that thing everywhere, running around zapping everything.
Gave it up when I turned 18 and finally realized that everything I believed about that stupid ring was a lie.

I’d say he is a smartass in 95% of his comics. And yeah, I have read them all, including Agent X and his series with Cable.
Nothing like a character that knows he is in a cartoon, ala:

You’re obviously a much better authority on the subject than I am.
My first and very limited exposure to Deadpool was back when I was following X-Force closely. I believe he first appeared in that series around the second issue or so. I just didn’t remember him as being so cocky back then, but that was also a long time ago…

Deadpool is one of the few comic characters who actually break whats call “the fourth wall”. Meaning he refers to the reader of the comic on occasion as though u are reading a 1st person narrative.
And yeah, he didnt start out as a smart ass, but he did become one. He’s kinda a cross between Wolverine (The acutally used Wolvies DNA to give Dead a healing factor) and Spidey, with his constant smart ass comments and banter.

Good point. I completely forgot about He-Man, but he had a big impact on me as a kid, and was a huge part of why I always wanted to be strong.
I also haven’t seen the big rig himslef…Optimus Prime.[/quote]
Right here buddy…the “Slagmaker”.
Last time I remember, Prime had to give up the matrix because of this guy.

PITT was by far my favorite comic growing up, one of the most gory comics ever. I still have most of them, wish I could still find them around.

I dunno… This is the one i grew up with (Madonna was the original pick to play Catwoman, but her touring schedule conflicted with filming. Madonna was also selected to play Harley Quinn at one time)… and i think there is just something about the vinyl, the hand springs, the stiches coming undone throught the film… inspiriring really.
