I have to second this suggestion. My wife and I make a wonderful pizza at home such as the following.
We make our own crust out of whole wheat flour. We use a mix of olive and avocado oil, fresh ground pepper, and garlic. Then top it with the following.
Lean ground beef (any lean protein)
Onions
Garlic
Green and/or red peppers
Black olives
Fat free mozarella
Parmesan
you can usually find sea food mixtures for relatively cheap.
i like one containing shrimp, calamari, scallops and octopus that wal mart carries. i usually get a can of tomato paste and mix it with water, add garlic/onion powder, some salt and crushed red pepper. i let the sea food simmer in it while boiling whole grain pasta.
it is delicious, high in protien, low in fat, and although high in carbs, they are good carbs.
you can substitute chicken if you don’t like sea food.
buy Berardi’s cookbook and you’ll never have to worry again. I generally end up adding spice to his recipes, but holy crap are they good - like acorn squash stuffed with chicken and sauteed veggies. PHENOMENAL stuff.
These are awesome ideas, Should keep me on the straight and narrow for months! Tommorow night I am going for some salami rollups, grilled salmon and mixed veg and finishing up with a pumpkin-vanilla shake. Thanks so much for the great ideas. Keep em coming if you’ve got more.
