You gotta go way back to find good Christian music imo. Everything created this century fucking sucks.
Third Day, Toby Mac, The Newsboys, and the new Audio Adrenaline are aways good. There are others like Skillet and Red that are good but the NSA’s best analysts couldn’t find a Christian reference in their music, so I don’t consider them Christian.
The best show i’ve seen is back in the day when Third Day opened for Michael W Smith.
Should we remove Ester from the Bible because there is no reference to God? Not trying to be an ass with that question.
I love Skillet and Red. They might not say God or Jesus, but the message sure shows they are Christian. Their music shows what life is really like. I wish life was like a lot of Christian music out there, but life is tough and IMO Skillet and Red show that.
Also both bands are crossover bands so anyway the message can get to the unsaved is good in my book. Not many bands can walk that fine line between secular and Christian, but both Red and Skillet do a good job.

I don’t buy the crossover thing. Either bands are Christians or they are running a scam to sell records. There has been more than one I insider who has discussed this. Dr Michael L Brown interviewed one of them on his radio show.
I don’t know how to upload videos, but for me, you can’t go wrong with old school Christian thrash/death metal. My faves are:
Mortification
Believer
Deliverance
Vengeance Rising
Living Sacrifice
Ultimatum
The Crucified
Crimson Thorn

I just was introduced to Mortification a few weeks ago. Great stuff.
Except for some of the metal stuff, none of this is too appealing musically.
Either way, here is a musical piece by St. Thomas Aquinas
And of course Flogging Molly is one of my favorite bands, all of them Christian.
There are a few more bands that I can’t think of off the top of my head.
If I’m in an old school mood… It doesn’t get more old school than a Byzantine choir in the Hagia Sophia… or the Coptic, The Great Doxology.
Demon Hunter is one of my favorite bands!

Really? They’ve been one of my all time favorites since I was like 14. Check out Post Momentary Affliction. I never get tired of listening to it.

I just discovered Demon Hunter a few weeks ago, and I’m hooked. If you’re into the death metal type sound, check out a band called Azmaveth. They’re awesome.
For lots of information on Christian metal, check out Heaven’s Metal magazine and look up a guy named Pastor Bob Beeman. This is where I’ve gotten lots info on new bands for about 20 years.

I found out about Demon Hunter a year and a half ago. I asked a High Schooler at my church who his favorite bands were. He gave me a list of like 20 heavy metal bands, and I really liked Demon Hunter. I personally can not take the tension of growling for an entire song. Demon Hunter growls (tension) and the some singing (release of tension). I love this style of music, and have tried more and more bands as my library grows.
I am glad you all are willing to talk about different genres of music. I enjoy all types as long as they give glory to God.

Is this stated as your opinion?
I really would like to keep all personal opinions of different types of genres of music to ones self unless it is uplifting. This is an open thread for all types of genres as long as it is Christian in nature.

Thought I would post one.
