Fat Loss Diet Critque

Hi guys, any advice on the following. 240lb, 6’, 29yo, M, haven’t had BF measured for 18+ months but we can assume its 25-30% range. Diet is Protein & fat with carbs from veg. Protein is roughly 1.5g/KG. Marco split is normally 30%P, 10%C, 60%F. Calories are approx 2200, but stay in the 2000-2500 range

Day looks like this:

  1. scrambled eggs, bacon, mushroom, spinach, olive oil
  2. nuts, whey
  3. chicken breast & plate full of veg, oil dressing
  4. nuts, 1 piece fruit
  5. meat/fish + veg/salad + oil dress as required for daily calories

I tend to commute by bike for 25 minutes morning and night, is this enough for steady state cardio?

I play rugby on a saturday

I visit the gym 3 or 4 times a week and mix up heavy lifting, olympic lifts, circuits each time i visit

if it were me:

cut bacon - eat a none cured meat in its place. cut mushrooms and all other non green veg, then load up as much green veg as my appetite requires.

no fruit unless 1st thing in morning or post workout…thats just an unnecessary insulin spike for more fat gain.

the bike riding is enough yes.

try and eat me at veg at every meal instead of just nut snacks (have a few nuts in the mix)

Looks pretty good. Do you know how many calories you were taking in before starting this diet?

Make sure you have a quality protein source at every meal. Nuts + Fruit doesn’t include a protein source. If your going to have fruit, make it an orange or mixed berries and have it at breakfast.

What about peri-workout nutrition?
