eh…why so much fats? anyways…try instead of just doin fish oil, get a combo of Fish Oil/Flax Oil/Borage Oil aka Omega 3/6/9. Honestly I haven’t heard much on hemp, so someone else can field that one. PM if you have more questions.
hate to burst your bubble, but i had the nicest little waistline before i started taking my essential fatty acids.
and i am now having a tough time trying to get rid of this peculier little spare tire that must have formed sometime inbetwween trying to stay lean and fit as well as gain some quality mass.
i am so sure it was one full year of essential fatty acid pills.
just fair warning,

Huh? Where’s the connection? Why are you so convinced? How many kcals of EFAs were you taking? What proportion was this of your total intake? How can you single out EFAs for your increased body fat?

I don’t see any bubbles bursting any time soon.
wrong-wrong-wrong
obviously you need to account for the calories-duh! but he fats are more important than the carbs. Adjust!
And 50g of olive oil!!!Are you crazy.
Up your fish caps to 8-10 and cut your olive oil to maybe 2-3 tablespoons per day. I like to add them to my mid morning shake and my before bed snack.
Fish iol caps with my first 2 meals of the day. That is plenty unless you are on some huge mass gaining cycle or something.
Not real sure how the board feels about it but I’m really digging Coconut oil at the moment. Its just about the oil I cook with (the taste does take some getting used to!) but my fave use is dumping 10g in a coffee about an hour before hitting the gym.I get some pretty wicked energy of this especially on cardio days.
Anyways don’t take my word for it there is a ton of cool info on the net just google coconut oil.
If I remember correctly, Berardi recommends 1/3 each of mono, poly & saturated fat.
would anyone care to work that out in food/oil terms
so lets say 30% saturated from …g
30% mono…g
30% poly…g
adding up to 1000 cals please
300 cals from fish oil and flax seems a little tricky and expensive
Well, other oils such as peanut oil and especially walnut oil have plenty of polyunsaturated fats. The peanut oil also has lost of monounsaturated fat.
Monounsaturated fats come from nearly any kind of veggie oil, but olive oil has a very high ratio of mono to the other types. Avacados area also good sources.
As far as saturated fats, you should be getting lots of these already if you eat meat. A good healthy saturated fat (moreso because it has fat you don’t get much of) is coconut milk.
i don’t know, it felt like the “thing to do” untill i realized that this fat was not melting away like before.
anyways i overcame it almost and still in the process of the process of overcoming it.
i’m telling you, if i could do it over again i would have to say screww the good heart healthy fats.
However, realize that Flax Oil is a much better source for Omega-3, which is most lacking in the standard American diet, typically geared toward too much Omega-6, throwing off the ratio.
Though, perhaps Hemp might be better for the major source of oil to a bodybuilder, who might have nothing to do with the standard American diet! Especially since I’ve heard it tastes much better than Flax.

How much EFA’s were you taking? Even if you took 10 fish oil caps a day, that is only an additional 90 calories in your diet. Look elsewhere for your problems.
And another thing - “screww the good heart healthy fats” for a nice slim wasteline? That thinking is fucked up.

raul doesn’t know what he’s talking about. There is no way a sensible amount of EFA’s made him fat.
Troll obviously. Far too many studies espousing the benefits of EFAs have been published to even conjecture such an obscene notion. And more importantly, it’s the omega-3 goodness that surrounds my brain.
