laugh Love the meet stories. People are probably worried you’ll cute them to death if they tell you to not yell.
But yes, the no cheering thing does sound odd.

cute them to death?! Sounds like a fabulous way to die.
Frenchie: Sorry to hear about that hip flexor-and so close to meet time-that really sucks. Hope you’re feeling better.
how is your soreness today? any changes??
Frenchie, I hope that hip flexor is feeling better today. If it were me, I’d go in to see my ART lady. Do you have, or can you find, someone trustworthy to work on this?
Lots to catch up on.
Tattoo looks amazing. I want to get one one day, but don’t know what I want.
Holy Squat PRs!! killing it!
Sorry to hear about your hip flexor, hopefully it’ll loosen up by meet time!
Sending healing thoughts your way.

As long as you don’t do that with your husband.
Hope the hip flexor feels better.

Dasher - as Snap has pointed out, canadian meets are as dead serious as a church. No screaming, chanting and cheering. I was the only one yelling my head off last meet. That means the vibe you pic up is very subtle. Personally I am a solo lifter, I don’t get that much from the crowd, it’s basically a time when I try to tap the very essence of crazy and focus on the bar. I would say there isn’t much to feed on and I am not much of a show girl, the challenge on the stage is me and the bar, as it always is, with my focus on the commands.
I’ve always had my best lifts alone in the gym because I’m only going balls out on 1 lift instead of 3. The worst is the bench, I’ve done 155lbs in the gym but can barely reach 140lbs at the meet. The one lift I might Pr on is the squat cause it’s the first lift and I’m not drained yet.
In terms of anxiety it pretty much drains after the first squat which is why I need to nail it. It just sets the tone.

You have got to come South sometime and do an SPF meet. Honestly its a bit like Friday night at a biker bar.
Joe - problem is the meet is this saturday
The sprained happened on Thuesday and bodyweight squats are still painfull.
Nadia - meh, lesson learned.
Brute - I have a little more range of movement but as soon as a come close to parallel and below the strain appears.
Kimba - I don’t but I’ll look into it for the future.
Blaze - Thanks! took me 10 yrs to settle on my dragon. Take your time. Don’t make it a douche Tatoo.
MT - lol… naw only at the meets.
Joe - sounds like hella fun! When are you and Rhonda next competing?
Hope you’re feeling better!

x2. Get better Frenchie!
Thanks Guys - more range of movement but still some slight tugging when squating. Laying low until thursday, I’ll make my final decision then.
Glad to hear it’s gotten a little better
That really sucks so close to a meet. I’m always paranoid about that practicing before a comp.
Sending more healing vibes!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
awww, rest up!!!
Hang in there Frenchie! It sounds like you’re improving - just need to get past the curve.

It seems almost everyone on this forum has some kind of hip discomfort lately. Women’s hips seem so vulnerable to me. Hope it heals up fast, which it sounds like it will. You probably just strained it.

Hey lovey! How are things going over here? Any news?
I hope that hip is feeling much better today. fingers crossed for you…
